DELTA TO GET FULL SENIORITY

All,

SthrnBoy is an idiot and in no way represent the feelings of anyone who has been in this business as long as we have and understand how things work.

Do yourself some good and put him on Ignore or your brain cells will be lost to the babblings of a mean spirited FA.

You have any idea how a TWA FA feels about AA? What happened to them was deplorable and should never happen to anyone.

With respect...

I couldn't DISAGREE with you more and there is NOTHING respectful in your post. SthrnBoy reflects the frustrations of this industry and is entitled to his opinion. It would had been nice to see something of substance to counter whatever issue you have with a post he had as opposed to name calling and the "put him on ignore" line.

I did not know that trying to express my feelings about a situation that will involve my life would make me an idiot. Excuse me that I will loose my line (which involves my pay by days working and my mortgage.)

I don’t need to care what happened to TWA…. It happened and it’s the past. That is the past. I feel bad for them but life is about “survivalâ€￾.

If the shoe was on the other foot, you think DELTA FA’s would not think twice before putting me on the bottom of there seniority list. GET REAL.

They voted down AFA many times. Now they reap the rewards.

You should care what happens to other people...because one day you could find yourself in the same situation. I once had a cocky Delta pilot mouth off about having to ride the van with a crew from a bankrupt has been carrier....I often wonder if he has been in the least bit humbled by his situation since then.

I see where you are coming from but this is an airline that did EVERYTHING they could to keep AFA OFF the property and it worked. TWICE the DAL f/a's turned their noses up to AFA. we aren't talking about an unsuspecting airline that will now have to decide which union to vote for. But MARK MY WORDS...Those f/a's will vote quickly for AFA to save their butts.

You can't even COMPARE what happened to TWA and DAL. Did AA recruit you guys to be in their union? NO. Did you snub AA by turning down their union not once but twice? NO!! It's time for Delta to pay. I am sick and tired of airlines talking down AFA, then kissing their assses when they are bought from an AFA airline.

TWA did get the shaft, but (and that's a REALLY big but) TWA f/a's had a union. That's why I think they got screwed. AA's union should have looked at Tdub as union brothers and sisters; they didn't. Delta, however, is quite different. They spurned representation every single time it has come up. Those of us here at US/HP have been union members since our 6th month of service. I know I've paid over $10,000 in dues during the past 20 years. Sorry, but to be blunt, that had best damn count for something in all of this. I paid, DL didn't (and they had the opportunity time and time again). I demand and expect my career-long membership in AFA to count for more than those who wanted no part in it. Sorry.

Amazing! This is only a proposal and nothing has changed; yet some of you have started bit&%$@ing and moaning about things that may never happen. What a waste of time, energy and emotions.

And waste of money...like the millions to try and organize a group of f/a's that IF become a part of US will scramble to kiss the same butts they gave the finger to.

Let's call it PUTTING ON NOTICE!!! ;)

Yeah, sorry. Look at my handle. Why be concerned about anything when all previous management told me that everything would be just fine. Ed Colodny: "Dayton will remain a hub". Seth Schofield: "Syracuse will not close as a base." Stephen Wolf: "BWI is important to this airline and is strategy and growth". Scott Kirby: "Charlotte will remain a significant hub".

Pretty soon every city I have worked in will be history at this airline. Hard to stay positive. My apologies to you. Guess you've never been there.

What keeps me hanging on is that I'll be out of here in January 2008. I do hate to see this for those that will be left on the property and for what the job losses will do to my hometown. So again, forgive me for being overly sensitive.

I understand and respect your opinion LCC, I was for the most part refering to Sthrnboys statement that he didnt need to care what happened to us. While your point is valid, his just seems selfish imho.

I have worked with former TWA FAs/and Pilots, Most of them I know have moved own or found new airlines. It sucked, I agree. But it is over. I am just saying they are doing find and either went to college again or found other jobs. I may have been a little haste about the TWA sitatuion however, most of them landed on there feet. My worry is are we going to?

We are unsure if we are going to land on our feet or be out on the street without a union or protection or if any of us get furloughed. Also for a company that dis'ed (AFA) with my UNION dues and now they are going to turn around and screw me now with my dues again. (DAMN RIGHT it pisses me off). Sorry that I feel its WRONG.

It is quite apparent that none of you have a clue about what being a member of a union is all about.

It is not about screwing your coworkers and making youself gain a fellow memeber lose.

labor union

an organization of wage earners or salaried employees for mutual aid and protection and for dealing collectively with employers; trade union.

An organization of wage earners formed for the purpose of serving the members' interests with respect to wages and working conditions.

What We Stand for: Mission and Goals of the AFL-CIO

The mission of the AFL-CIO is to improve the lives of working families—to bring economic justice to the workplace and social justice to our nation. To accomplish this mission we will build and change the American labor movement.

We will build a broad movement of American workers by organizing workers into unions. We will recruit and train the next generation of organizers, mass the resources needed to organize and create the strategies to win organizing campaigns and union contracts. We will create a broad understanding of the need to organize among our members, our leadership and among unorganized workers. We will lead the labor movement in these efforts.

We will build a strong political voice for workers in our nation. We will fight for an agenda for working families at all levels of government. We will empower state federations. We will build a broad progressive coalition that speaks out for social and economic justice. We will create a political force within the labor movement that will empower workers and speak forcefully on the public issues that affect our lives.

We will change our unions to provide a new voice to workers in a changing economy. We will speak for working people in the global economy, in the industries in which we are employed, in the firms where we work, and on the job every day. We will transform the role of the union from an organization that focuses on a member's contract to one that gives workers a say in all the decisions that affect our working lives—from capital investments, to the quality of our products and services, to how we organize our work.

We will change our labor movement by creating a new voice for workers in our communities. We will make the voices of working families heard across our nation and in our neighborhoods. We will create vibrant community labor councils that reach out to workers at the local level. We will strengthen the ties of labor to our allies. We will speak out in effective and creative ways on behalf of all working Americans.

My, my, my friend...where is the hostility coming from? What shoe on the other foot? Those shoes are old and worn out. We have been there, my friend. We BOUGHT those shoes.

History lesson...When PI merged with US, I was based in BWI. After merger, over 300 f/a's flushed into the base. What did I do? I graciously transferred to DCA. Seniors came in. That's life.
When ILM closed, most went to CLT. Seniors came in. That's life.

When ORF closed, most went to CLT. Seniors came in. That's life.

When ATL closed, most went to CLT. Seniors came in. That's life.

When ROA closed, most went to CLT or BWI. Seniors came in. That's life.

When GSO closed, most went to CLT. Seniors came in. That's life.

When DCA closed, most went to BWI. Seniors came in. That's life.

When Miami closed, most went to CLT. Seniors came in. That's life.

SYR closed. They went to other bases. That's life.

San Diego closed. They went to LA. Seniors came in. That's life.

SFO closed. They went to LA. Seniors came in. That's life.

LAX closed. They went everywhere. Seniors came in. That's life.

BWI closed. They went everywhere. Seniors came in. That's life.

PIT downsized. They went everywhere. Seniors came in. That's life

IF this merger happens and any EAST bases close, I will go to Atlanta or PHX and take my senority. THAT'S LIFE!!

GET IT??? ;)

 And I Too ATL!!!

Its not about what USAirways will do; its about AFA. DL will become union the minute the merger is approved. Seniority will be DOH.

Exactly! ;)

 And I Too ATL!!!
Exactly! ;) My Partner Works For DAL and Voted FOR AFA EveryTime!!

Okay all you AA haters. Let's see what what happens at U.S.AIRWAYS in regards to seniority. Will USAIR people willingly give full seniority to Delta people. My bet is all you people who have been crying about the AA-TWA buyout will all be screaming STAPLE!,STAPLE! now that it's your turn.

No not me....It's one for one in my book.

But remember Delta has not been so nice to the ones they have taken over. I am not a vindictive person but I can't help thinking how it would be for them to get what they have dished out. They did every thing in their power to put U out of business. But that was management not the employee's but I never heard one employee disagree how their company behaved.

All said and done I will take the high road and let them have one for one.

Why should they get full DOH if they are non union and have turned their nose up to AFA a few times. AFA tried to convince them and spent time trying to do so. I dont think they should be stapled..but, they should not get full DOH. They never paid a union due and we at U have been paying. Now all of a sudden AFA is their friend. Give me a break..if AFA would have came to them the day before this announcement and tried to get them unionized they would have said no, again. Now because of a possible merger...they want to have a union.

NO one at USAirways has ever cried over where someone else has fallen into their seniority list.

Actually I cried to the CWA but was told it was a backburner issue since there were only a few of them. See they were different since they had TO RESIGN FROM EASTERN IN ORDER FOR TRUMP TO HIRE THEM ! But anyway, that was the supermarket union mentality of the CWA !
