TWA Seniority

Since AA is the Bankrupt Airline, would it be fair to say that If US gives AA employees 25% seniority it would all even out?
Next thing you'll probley hear is that US bought AA's assist out of BK, and therefore isn't a "merger" at all, but a buyout! ------ Now where have I heard that before?

What would your answer be CactUS?

At a morning conference call with American’s managers, AA senior vice president of people Denise Lynn disputed media reports that US Airways was buying American.

“That isn’t factually correct,” Lynn told callers. “This is a true merger of two airlines in partnership. American is clearly the bigger portion of that partnership, given the split in the deal is 72 percent 28 percent split between American stakeholders and US Airways shareholders.”
She added: “So no one should be talking about anyone acquiring anyone. It’s not helpful. This is a merger. We’re going to work together to create the strongest combination that we can in order to win against Delta [Air Lines Inc.] and United [Airlines Inc.]”

Later in the Lynn call, American’s general counsel, Gary Kennedy, pointed out that US Airways is appointing four of the 12 board members of the merged company, with three coming from AMR’s current board and five appointed by AMR creditors — giving AMR interests eight votes on the joint board.

By the way, what the heck is a "senior vice president of people"?

The merger hasn't even closed yet,

Mergers create deep wounds in labor groups that don't go away untill the last person affected leaves payroll. These open sores are salted whenever the mention of a merger exists such as now.

The TWA saga continues until the last man (woman ) standing drops.. much like the Alamo.

Remember the TWAlamo... Best wishes to all...

Fwiw, the former AWA fleet service people go by DOH for their seniority, while the US East goes by an adjusted classification date. Not sure who came up with that one, or why. Granted that most of the former AWA fleet people are junior anyways.

The decisions at USAir in respect to their mergers where settled. The decisions with the AA mergers were settled. It is all done and agreed upon at the time it happened.
Now we have to settle the seniority issues at hand. AA and USAir. How far back do you want to go with the past merger agreements? What is done is done. Lets move on to the next step.

Ok, my bad. Didn't intend on opening up this can of worms. I was just looking for opinions. Most of you got it but some didn't. Thanks for those who gave their opinions.

I was just stirring the pot...Im looking forward to working for The New American.....I got at least 20 more years before I can think of retirement and I need this to work. Im hoping AA/US employee seniority integration is flawless just like the HP/US was...We employees and the new management team need to make this work or we will all end up on the unemployment line one day....All I ask is for management to treat its employees fair especially during the transition agreements...Im looking forward to working with my exTWA and new AA family...God Bless The New American....

Flight Attendants have all ready agreed on DOH, its in the AFA bylaws, they arent combined yet as they havent ratified a joint CBA.

According to the Kasher agreement only AAers stations like DFW, JFK would get 100% the rest of AA system would get 25% or the effective date of the merger.. Is that right ?

Sorry Barf, but not true. MCI, and STL, were the only stations to get 100%! ------- So what did the TWU/AA do about that? ----- Shut them down! End of story! And stations like LAX fought for years to keep exTWAers from geting their 25%!

Sorry..corrected:

If the Kasher agreement were used in the new AA/LCC merger, stations like DFW, JFK would get 100% the rest of AA system would get 25% or the effective date of the merger.. Is that right ?
