Bang! - You're Unemployed!

El Gato said:
First off, no I am not scared. Second, I should never have to "scab" anyway since unions and management are supposed to be in a cooperative relationship, not an adverserial one. Example: Southwest.
There's quite a few F/A's that would disagree with you there, Flash. By the way, why would you advocate *anyone* making less per hour? That, El Gato, is the antithesis of the American Way. Period. And again, as has been discussed ad nauseum on other threads, Southwest rampers are the highest paid in the industry. I would suggest you get your facts straight. And as far as Styx goes, perhaps you should listen to "Too much time on my hands."

Come on Al...El Gato...ruse for Management (Oxymoron)

You know not of what you spew...................You don't have a clue.

How is retar-ted going?
WOW! I'm sure that took you a long time to come with.

Actually, Ted is doing great! Thanks for asking.

Just had a manager on my jumpseat yesterday. Ted is actually EXCEEDING every expectation, from reliability, to customer reception, to intent to repurchase, to load factor, to revenue, to cost. By EVERY measure so far it is an unquestionable success for UA. You may or may not like, agree with, or even understand the product personally, but from a business stand point it is working.

Infact, the introduction of Ted routes is being accellerated, and from what I hear, even the ATSB likes what it sees in regard to Ted.

I hope you're hungry. You'll be eating crow very soon. :p

I work for an airline, and I earn a decent wage. I am thankful for what I have, and am capable of handling concessions. When I say giving back, I am saying the givebacks that SHOULD have been done in Chptr 11. You see, that was the greatest screwup Siegel made. He foolishly believed that the unions would be understanding of what the plight of the company is. In C11, he SHOULD have abrogated all contracts and had the judge lay down the new wages, work rules, etc. Now it is too late for that, and he has to beg the unionistas, who still think US is not in danger.

I really don't care about your union story. You have done more than say your piece, with adding an insult at the end which I hope the moderator catches. I am so tempted to call you something like a pi*che ma*icon, but that wouldn't be right now would it.
If you work for an airline, you should be wishing for U's demise...unless you are already an employee, chip, I mean El. ;)

During resutructuring #1, U management made everyone believe that we would not go into BK if we gave them what they wanted. We did. WE still went into BK.

That was deception #2. Deception #1 was the use of the concept "labor friendly".

And the list goes on...

For you Airline Orphan!

Solidarity Forever!

When the union's inspiration through worker's blood shall run, There can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun; Yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one, For the union makes us strong.

Solidarity forever, Solidarity forever, Solidarity forever, For the union makes us strong

Is there aught we hold in common with the greedy parasite; Who would lash us into serfdom and would crush us with his might? Is there anything left to us but to organize and fight? For the union makes us strong

Solidarity forever, Solidarity forever, Solidarity forever, For the union makes us strong

It is we who ploughed the prairies, built the cities where they trade, Dug the mines and built the workshops, endless miles of railroad laid; Now we stand outcast and starving 'mid the wonders we have made, But the union makes us strong

Solidarity forever, Solidarity forever, Solidarity forever, For the union makes us strong

All the world that's owned by idle drones is ours and ours alone We have laid the wide foundations, built it skyward stone by stone. It is ours, not to slave in, but to master and to own. While the union makes us strong.

Solidarity forever, Solidarity forever, Solidarity forever, For the union makes us strong

They have taken untold millions that they never toiled to earn, But without our brain and muscle not a single wheel will turn; But without our brain and muscle not a single wheel will turn; We can break their haughty power, gain our freedom when we learn; That the union makes us strong

Solidarity forever, Solidarity forever, Solidarity forever, For the union makes us strong

In our hands is placed a power greater than their hoarded gold, Greater than the might of armies magnified a thousand fold; We can bring to birth a new world from the ashes of the old, For the union makes us strong.

Solidarity forever, Solidarity forever, Solidarity forever, For the union makes us strong

"Solidarity," Words by Ralph Chaplin

Go study labor history and you will know what it is, just remember workers have died in this country so you have the right to organize, and collective bargain.

Your statement is real intelligent, NOT!

We insist that labor is entitled to as much respect as property. But our workers with hand and brain deserve more than respect for their labor. They deserve practical protection in the opportunity to use their labor at a return adequate to support them at a decent and constantly rising standard of living, and to accumulate a margin of security against the inevitable vicissitudes of life.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt, fireside chat, 1936

Long ago we stated the reason for labor organizations. We said that they were organized out of the necessities of the situation: that a single employee was helpless in dealing with an employer; … that union was essential to give the laborers opportunity to deal on equality with their employer.
Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes (1862-1948) for the U.S. Supreme Court (1930-1941), in NLRB v. Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp. 301 1 at 33, 1937

With all their faults, trade unions have done more for humanity than any other organization that ever existed. They have done more for decency, for honesty, for education, for the betterment of the race, for the developing of character in man, than the other association of men.
Clarence Darrow, The Railroad Trainman, 1909

Ha. Ha. Ha. You may LOL all you want. All freakin' day if it makes
you feel important. Just remember, you really are just a squeaky
wheel and the if the oil doesn't make it to you, the rust will set in
quickly and before you know it, you'll be seized like a dry bearing.
I respect what you are trying to do, but the silent majority will most
likely overrule your "doom and gloom" attitude.

700, Pitbull, and all the other "usual suspects:"

Being militant is nothing to be ashamed of. Period. Our forefathers (and for some of us actual fathers) would be spinning in their graves if they saw some of the waffling milktoasts (sp?) passing for union workers today. To the rest of you; what are you doing to fight for a better tomorrow?

will say on these boards to squelch any viewpoints that don't
match the MAJORITY opinon of the employees, customers, and

Management pilots can. So can certain other people authorized by the company.

Your speech was so inspiring I shorted out my keyboard with the tears flowing from my eyes.
Hey, "to much time to quit", not trying to be a spelling monitor but the way you spelled, "to" on your avatar is incorrect. It should be, "too much time to quit".

I think your post was funny though.

Now you can tell me to go get bent.

El Gato,

Q: When the robber barrons finally suck all the blood out of this carcas, what are they gonna do?

A: They will find another carcass.

Q: What will the employees do?

A: They will find another job. And then they will have to listen to a different ppuuttzz who tries to spread fear and doom.

Customers don't count and management doesn't have a choice, and whether you choose to believe so or not you are out numbered this time around.
