Setting aside the percentage of votes needed (or more specifically what votes don't count), did other votign rules change? It has been my understanding that the vote was for or against representation. If there was enough votes for representation, then the union that got the most votes was the rep. By that logic, it's no union, the Association, or whateve writein wins. Is that no longer the case?

One of my friends in Fleet told me this and I didn't believe him. That is until I read this:

Look under the heading, "Alliance". Question #7.

This opens up a whole new can of worms that my apathetic coworkers are unaware of.

Let's not get into Republicans vs. Democrats. It's a never ending debate. Your thoughts on the proposed National Right To Work Act legislation please. Would you agree or disagree it is anti-union legislation? Would you agree or disagree, if passed, it would have an adverse affect on union represented jobs in the airline industry? This is the issue being discussed. Hold your thoughts on illegal immigrants for another discussion. Injecting another issue tends to muddy the waters. This is an issue members need to remain vigilant on.
is this legislation going to have a chance? And is it suppose to apply to the RLA as well?
Its amazing how the political debate goes from "Card Check", to right to work.

Looks like the latest Q & A on the twi site all but forego's the 401k match for usairways members. Just a couple weeks ago, the local twu leaders were dogging the iampf but when they needed the iam resources to help fend off the ibt and amfa, they turned to the iam to affiliate. Of course, the iam gets the pension agreement out of the affiliation. regards,

To be honest I have no idea what the legislation says , doesn't really matter to me as I'm a straight ticket republican , until such time the other party becomes more blue collar friendly .
Thank you for showing your true colors. I would ask all brothers and sisters on this forum to duly note Freedom's position. "Straight ticket republican". He has no idea what the legislation says and it doesn't really matter to him. This, despite the fact, the proposed legislation will have an adverse affect on his and fellow represented members' futures in the airline industry. Duly noted Freedom. You can't fix stupid Brothers and Sisters.

special note to whatever genius ordered AC-152 a new A321 the bin floors with the anti skid paint on them are a nice touch ....NOT! you idiot

Maybe we can only hope whoever is ordering the AC on the AA side are not quite as stupid

The National right to work legislation along with right to work state BS is the biggest POS ever. When the majority vote for something in America, whether it be for President, congress person, senator, tax hikes etc. it is what it is. The losing side doesn't get to be President etc. If the majority of people vote in a Union they should all be Union. PERIOD. It is amazing this right to work garbage allows the will of the people to be overturned. Pure BS, Union busting plain and simple. Any leader who proposes any of this should never be re-elected.

I'm sorry but work concerns will never triump national security concerns in my book . I will never vote for a party that wants to EDIT : hurt/harm its own country.

You continue to dodge the question. Do you; or do you not; support the proposed National Right to Work Act? Spare us your opinions on national security and parties who, in your opinion, are out to destroy the country. Just answer the question.

I did answer your question , as long as the republican party opposes illegal immigration and mass Amnesty my support for the party is unwavering ,even if legislation is passed that would hurt me personally.

I don't see what all of you are worried about however, the president could simply veto laws harmfull to unions.

ever hear of an over ride by 2/3 vote in the house/senate freedom they can over ride a veto secondly stll waiting for u to answer orgac quest.

orgac i think freedom supports the natl right to work after all he did support throwing his own co workers down the river without the life jackets in the 2008 contract.. he has no heart thats for sure

I would prefer that there are more labor. Unions and more worker protections , but there aren't and unionism is on the decline here in the US . It's sad that so many people don't mind scraping by .

Freedom, are you seriously trying to argue that illegal immigration is the country's most vital national security concern?

I think it's funny you instead prefer to erode your own job protections (by de facto supporting the GOP's agenda) in the hopes of stopping some Guatemalan peasant from stealing your job. You are in fact voting to empower the very people that would like to see something like this happen.

Says the worker who's industry has been PROTECTED from competition from illegal workers for the last decade or so .....

Go ask some other blue collar workers who don't need SIDA badges to work how they feel about Guatemalan peasants .
