APA Proposes Pay Restoration

  Hey OPS, I just saw that even USAIRWAYS exceeded the AA profit, the number 6 carrier - how sad for you, uh huh - I see a real big raise coming on... ahhh hhaaaa hhhaaaaaa haaaaaaa
Given the fact that they went bankrupt twice and the employees took 3 or 4 rounds of pay cuts with loss of pensions and other benefits; they can't help but post large profits. Your lack of analytical ability prevents you from realizing that the profits at US Airways come squarely off the backs of the employees and not from their "product".

The same can be said for AA - You just didn't feel the penetration as much b/c you willingly gave it up, instead of being raped without lube... you had the ID GLIDE in hand... You would have posted losses if you wouldn't have gave up billions in pay work rules.. You are no better than the rest, you just fail to see the light.. <_<

I like the precedent that pilots are setting with the double pay for Super Bowl Sunday. I'm more of a hockey guy, so I am hoping I can get the same deal and get double pay during the Stanley Cup Finals.

At the very least, it would be a deal to get 80,000+ people cheering for a game 7, which would pretty much double the ratings.

The same can't be said of AA. AA premium service is far superior to that of USAirways; just read the posts of US passengers (or former US passengers) such as ART in ISP or PineyBob. AA expends much effort in increasing revenue as opposed to USAir's philosophy of ONLY reducing costs by screwing employees and passengers. We at AA did take concessions but they were FAR LESS than what you gave up in bankruptcy. In terms of wages, I lost the $2.00 raise I got in 2001. I can regain most of that if I bid crew chief. However, it is important to note that MANY AA employees have retired since 2001 and they are receiving the pensions and medical that they EARNED throughout their careers. Yes, the retired AA pilots still get that big fat check from their "A" fund while AA pilots still flying are accruing in that fund. And by the way, we did not give up "billions" in pay and work rules, the actual figure was $1.8 billion. We gave up $1.8 billion in one round. It was YOU (at US and UA) who gave up BILLIONS in multiple rounds (US 3 or 4 and UA 2). You are just pissed because we didn't lose as much as you and AA employees still have pensions and other benefits.

That was so well said and so true !!!

Much of our operations, planes, and people are from a bankrupt airline?
Bankrupt airlines, would be more accurate. AA picked up a lot from Peoples Express, EAl, Pan Am Tower prior to the TWA purchase. So much of the operations and people would be from bankrupt airlines.

What did AA get from People Express? People Express was merged into CO; that is where CO got it's EWR hub from. And what did AA get from Pan Am? UA got Pan Am's Pacific, LHR routes, and South American routes while Delta got the northeast shuttle and the JFK hub and transatlantic routes. What did AA get from Tower? AA bought assets from bankrupt TWA (which they severely reduced) and EAL (where the US based EA employees had to start all over at the bottom of the pay and seniority lists).

I think I'll join you. AAFSC knows everything about everything, so why be here. He has so much knowledge about everybody's job - he just comes off as an ignorant wind bag who hijacks threads.

Where did I post about "knowledge about everyone's job" or when did I "hijack" a thread? Could Alzheimers possibly be setting in?

Instead of personal attacks, why not engage in factual debate? It is because you are incapable of rational debate. You post strictly from emotion because your wife was unable to repair her disfunctional career on the backs of nAAtive F/As.

Donttouch's obsession with AA clearly belie much more serious issues.

It truly needs some meds. If it's already on meds, then it needs to have its dosage adjusted upward.

It just can't help itself. If it's not here spreading "cheer," it's over on the DL board demonstrating its racism.
