Probably so. Most people get their news from pictures and talking heads. Never mind that none of the EO's that Obama signed affect gun ownership. Never mind that Congress will not pass any gun control legislation over the next two years (and beyond if republicans maintain control over the House). Never mind the fact that the gun stores are making a fortune over peoples ignorance. Bet they are laughing all the way to the bank.

President Barack Obama says he has not only fired a gun, but has done it regularly.

"In fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time," the president told The New Republic. "Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there.

"And I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations.. And I think those who dismiss that out of hand make a big mistake."

Obama said he understands why folks in rural areas who grew up hunting might be very protective of that tradition and their gun rights, but he said guns in urban areas present a much different reality.

"So it’s trying to bridge those gaps that I think is going to be part of the biggest task over the next several months," Obama said. "And that means that advocates of gun control have to do a little more listening than they do sometimes."

Didn't you ever hear the phrase "Test a Lie" when it comes to comments made by the police? Frankly, I believe Glenn Quagmire or Dell before I'd buy into anything a CT state trooper said.
