Another School Massacre

Are you under some sort of delusion that Obama is able to authorize the sale of weapons without any authorization from any other governing body in the US? Do you not pay attention to anything anyone else says on this board?

Presidential directives have been used for exactly that. You make no literal distinction in your statement directly to Egypt and F16's.

I'm saying you should not exploit and use children to pursue your personal agenda !
If Barrack wants to read a book to children, condoning better education, no problem!

Btw, I was right about Demorats preferring larger exit wounds over smaller ones !

Biden, "Buy a shotgun!"

The no child left behind was a personal agenda of Bush. He used children to push his agenda. Eliminating 'assault weapons' is one of Obamas goals so he is using children to push it.

Same BS. You just happen to agree with one and not the other. I think they are both BS. Politicians use what ever is at their disposal.

My mistake regarding the distinction. The only thing I was refering to was the F16's to Egypt. I was not thinking of nor addressing other actions trhe president may take. I am making that distinction now.

Funny how he decided to pursue it "RIGHT" after Sandy Hook !

Oh and in case you didn't see it Tree, no Assault weapons were found at Sandy Hook ! It doesn't change the outcome of those who lost love ones, but it changes yours and Barracks agenda of disarming the American public !

"The shooter went into the school with 4 handguns, NOT an Assault Rifle as the media has charged."

So you were wrong as you made no prior distinction.
Just think what that kind of communicating in a dire situation could lead to.

Not really. This country is reactionary not proactive. We upped airport security after 9/11 not before. We worry about things after they happen, we never try and look forward and prevent thigs from happening. Pollution controls happen after the fact. That's the way we roll.

Not really. This country is reactionary not proactive. ... That's the way we roll.

America produced the utter miracle of the Apollo Program, so kindly spare us all any that's the way "we" roll or "This country is reactionary not proactive" BS. This nation wasn't always even half so screwed up as it currently is....and just who's doings have accomplished that tragic "miracle"?

Any school-shooting at my high school wouldn't have lasted long, since a number of us often had shotguns in the trunks of our cars, in prep for afternoon hunting...and, believe it or not, that was in what's sadly nowadays become "The Peoples' Republik of Kalifornia".Funny thing though?...There wasn't much in the way of any perceived, mortal danger to be feared just from showing up at school. I'm certain that even so much as drawing a shotgun would land a kid in some insanely manufactured and completely psychotic trouble these days...while sitting "safely" in their "gun free zones" of course. NO one I know from youth, or even early USAF days, wouldn't nowadays be made a "criminal" for our then-normal activities. Great going, government groupies!

PS: I used to seriously respect the government and most all in office. Now?...Don't make me laugh too hard. ;)

What does Apollo have to do with it? Workers on the Shuttle program said there were issues with the O-Rings but nothing happened till after the shuttle blew up on lift off. Security at the airports was a joke (not to say it still is not) but nothing was done till after 9/11 and when some other accident happens, we will do something else. We knew there were problems with nuclear reactors but nothing happened till after three mile island. Love canal, Ford Pinto..... we react to things that have happened, we do not try and prevent things from happening.

1) Of course one MIGHT think to note that the USA was the only nation even building and flying ANY Shuttles, and that orbital flight is still an incredibly dangerous thing to do, but that might not suit your outlook. Of course machines will fail. Of course accidents will happen.

2) Sigh!...DO be so very kind as to provide some/ANY examples from human history where an even slight excuse for a functioning society ever became or long-remained so, by devolving into scared and pathetic little children, who's purpose in life wasn't to make fine and amazingly wonderful things happen, ...and instead strove only to "try and prevent things from happening"...? I'm all ears here...?

"....we do not try and prevent things from happening." Thank God for that philsophy! None of our european ancestors would've ever even started their treacherous and dangerous voyages across the Atlantic had they shared your sentiments. It's a damn sure thing that those founding fathers of this Nation wouldn't have ever taken even the first steps towards any Freedom here, if all they were concerned with was "safety", as if anything of the sort's truly possible in this world anyway. Of course...those were also people that would've looked at anyone even suggesting their personal disarmament as complete and hopeless lunatics. FYI: The fight at Lexington and Concord, "The shot heard round the world" came to be as the result of British troops being sent to take the colonists' powder and shot stores from them.

That's right folks....The first small battle of the American Revolution was a direct result of attempted "gun control". Consider that for at least a moment here. You want to try and "prevent things from happening"? Leaving the legal owners of over 300 million firearms alone might just be a good place to start....Unless of course...such as yourself wish to try kicking in armed citizens' doors to steal their weapons from them...?

Go to 4:14 in this video for an intelligent reference to "assault" weapons, which I'll guarantee you can't even define, without first looking up what the megalomaniacal sociopaths currently infesting DC want you to think about such....?

1. It failed due to corporate expediency. Designers knew and documented their findings. NASA ignored their own protocols and placed humans lives at risk. They knew about it as early as 1977. Space travel is dangerous enough with all the unknowns. No need to make it more dangerous due to negligence by those charged with making it safe as possible.

2. Huh?

3. So the security at airports is not there to prevent people from boarding planes with weapons or dangerous material? Police are not patrolling the roads to prevent people from speeding? Safety regulations are not there to prevent dangerous things from happening? The Secret Service is always upgrading the security of the president as new threats emerge. They are trying to 'prevent things from happening'.

4. I could care less what an assault weapon is (military style weapon capable of full automatic fire) because if you were to read my previous posts you would find that I have no interest in banning any weapons. I want all weapons registered with a title of ownership like a car. When the weapon is sold the title is transferred. If a weapon is sold with out a back ground check and/or title is not transferred and the weapon is used in the commission of a crime, the titled owner would be liable as well as the criminal. Secondly I believe weapons need to be secured in a safe when not in use or when the owner is not present. If your weapon(s) is stolen and used in the commission of a crime you had better be able to prove the weapon was stolen from a safe or you were robbed at gun point (that would be ironic as hell).

Like I said, I have no interest in banning anything. Bans do not work. History has shown that. Regulations do work if applied correctly and enforced.
