and still nothing for the peons....

So it is just plain fair for a few at the top to share $33 million simply because it amounts to only a few dollars for the masses....Typical class warfare logic.
Never said it was fair. Just pointing out (for what must be the 527th time) that executive compensation isn't why you don't have the level of compensation you want.

FWAAA's already hit the nail on the head: it's what you've negotiated. L-AA's unions chose jobs and workrules over quality wages. You're living with the results of that, and have been for the past 20-30 years.

then if it doesn't matter at DL, it doesn't matter anywhere else, collective bargaining or no - even when those without CBAs have higher pay or not.

and for someone that has boasted that they pulled down over $1M doing int'l assignments over a decade or more - highly possible - I doubt seriously that you are in a position to say that someone else is overcompensated. to some, your compensation is excessive.

Just let the market do what the market does and quit bragging about what you have and don't criticize what others have if they are required by law for it to be disclosed.

Nice try, swaamt, but the $33M divided by the 100,000 or so employees works out to $330 per employee.

That's not even 1% of the average salary.

The amount of money paid to Parker, Kirby, Kerr, Isom and the rest of the stupid bastards in management has nothing to do with the poor pay and benefits of the rank and file.

AA's ground personnel rank and file are "represented" (and I use that term loosely) by crappy-ass pretend unions like the TWU and the IAM. It's not management's fault that those crappy impotent unions can't negotiate meaningful pay increases for their members. That blame lies at the feet of the crappy unions and their crappy ineffective negotiators, who have had decades of experience negotiating crappy contracts; lousy contracts are about the only thing they do well, and they've become experts at that task. For that crappy representation, they pay two hours of pay per month. Sad.
And some folks just don't understand sarcasm. LOL. You just gotta LUV this stuff man...

As I have said (for what must be the umpteenth time) I don't care what any executive earns.  And I can't even count how many times I lay blame with the TWU criticizing them for getting us here thanks to the sheepdog TWU yes voters. But when people (like you) reply with "IT ONLY COMES OUT TO $330 PER EMPLOYEE," it sickens many employees. So it's barely 1% of average salary? So why hasn't EVERY employee received 4%? If the average salary was $50k, that would ONLY be $200m...for 100,000 people.

ONLY $200m.

thanks for posting that.... I hadn't seen that quote before and it does explain more than a few things.

very well said, Metal Mover.

Right, I remember that(wasn't at NWA then, but vividly remember it while following the negotiations pulling for you guys................

and Boeings McNearny's arrogant, mindless comment to the media, "....employees will still be cowering before me, I see no end in sight..."

The arrogance these narccisstic, el p rickos exhibit is absolutely NAUSEATING.

ONLY $200m.
And also realize, most have received their 4%. Yet while those three divvy up a combined $33 million, I sit here and wait for my .92 cents (4%) with great anticipation. Yep, militant Lombardo sent out that apologetic "why not us" letter, and haven't heard anything since.

Interestingly, I don't think I ever said it but there are people who have tried to put those word in my mouth anyway

Now I understand why that phrase is on their lips

Let it go... he's long off the scene

Huh. I thought that was one of WT's lines...
Or one of yours. I'm sure like Dougie Stealin's disturbingly arrogant thought process because he was an attorney with an MBA that he shat piles of gold bullion as NWA CEO and therefore, no matter that NWA performance was dismal at the time he commanded multi-millions in pay and stock incentives....while he assisted in the destruction of the airline and finally workers lives.

"Our labor rates are now, far and away, the highest in the industry. Through bankruptcy, very large New Airlines have emerged with lower rates than us and better productivity. Next to fuel, labor is our highest expenditure. We cant have lower overall operating costs if our labor costs aren’t lower. We cant have lower labor costs if we arent more productive. The good news is that we have a lot of opportunities to improve our productivity, eliminate waste, and preserve our pay rates and benefits for the foreseeable future. Its crucial that we take advantage of those opportunities."

Right, and because of the TWu's 30+ years of ultimate failures and never seen before givebacks (with just the threat of BK), SWA management is aggressively pursuing the TWu style concessions.

Good thing your not over there to vote YES.
