An Open Letter from Capt. Prater to all AAA and AWA Pilots

June
Not having a dog in this fight i have read with interest the many posts from both sides. I have never read a post from West that says they can not live with Nicolau.
I have never read a post from East that says they can live with it. That seems more than a little strange to me. I had hoped both sides would not like it very well.

I dont think the East really expected DOH in the end June so do you have an idea what the problem is on the West seeming to love it and the East hates it.
Dude, you got to be frickin' kidding me with your BS post. We don't like it either. I lost 5% RS with the award but I'm not crying about it like the easties because I don't have an irrational fear of some mythical eastbound exodus by west pilots.

And as for not expecting DOH - are you kidding me again!!!

Lets start with this: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/Merger/

And, being very intimate with the process, I saw what went on during merger negotiations. I can tell you that the MC was threatened by the AAA MEC with recalls if they backed off of DOH. The MC made the request because they need room to negotiate and DOH was a non-starter. There is a resolution directing the MC to seek DOH and only DOH.

So please, stay retired and out of this fight.

Your enlightening posts have always been a credit to the pilot profession. Thank you and most of the West pilots for starting your posts out with "Dude" because it helps us immediately identify you as a person that deserves our respect and admiration. As a secondary benefit, it also helps everyone know you are an AWA pilot.

After studying the history of your posts, we can all rest assured that your talent of detente will prove to be very helpful in moving the assimilation of the pilot group forward.

If I were a Moderator you'd be very familiar with the cornfield,
Ya know, I was going to say the same thing about you. That racist tear you went on a while back would have had you removed from the board for good. But, alas, I am just a another poster.

You take down and biker gangs lately?

Wow. I clearly don't understand your perspective. I've but a very few years to go, but I find reason to fully respect anyone who's successfully completed this rather trying career myself.

I'll take that well thought out and diplomatic response to a person who's successfully accomplished a demanding career to mean that the AWA really isn't much interested in any objective appraisal of it's "righteous position" in any form.

Ah once again you are being the master of misinformation.

The IAM voted down concessions before, never agreed to a CBA in the last bankrutpcy and had the CBA abrogated and voted on a final offer.

You pilots were/are the first to cave every single time.

Even back in 1992 and by giving concessions your group screwed every single non-union employee at US.

Your own union disavowed you and your actions.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

And you better call the EAS, you really need some help.

The IAM told their members to cross the picket line at NWA. Then the IAM members performed the exact struck work.

Websters New Collegiate Dictionary

Scab (3) : a worker who accepts employment or replaces a union worker during a strike

IAM unionist (Lavman, 700UW) pointing a finger at ALPA.................PRICELESS

More like he is resigned to the fact an ALPA decertification is a real possibility and now is just trying to convince around 500 of you to not vote ALPA off. That number combined with the entire west NO votes will prevent ALPA from being removed. You really need to get a clue. Even if you are successful, it will be your downfall anyway - either way we win. In chess terms it's called checkmate.

The only reason west is taunting you to start your "decertification" is so they can have the legal evidence to prosecute their case with haste and certain success. It will be a Tomahawk precision munitions legal battle tactically executed by our field commander Freund. Every bonehead step your MEC takes is one more nail in the coffin - the decert will be the last.

The East's "No" vote for a Joint Contract trumps all. Sorry, but it does not matter what your MEC has planned for Armageddon.

Lets see Bottomfeeder,

ALPA crossed the picket line at NWA and UAL.

And you all made a secret deal to cross the IAM picket line at US and every pilot got paid regardless if he/she flew or not. All the DC9, MD80, F28, and F100s were grounded and yet you could not run to cross the picket line fast enough.

ALPA pilots cleaned planes during the 30 day cooling off period and during the six days we were on strike.

Are you the pot or the kettle?

And apparently PFAA, TWU and ALPA all crossed the picket lines at NWA and you do not know the history between AMFA and the IAM, the IAM would never support AFMA.

Guess you dont know how to read a CBA also, the IAM Ramp Contract contained the language that the Ramp can perform airstarts and ancillary duties and when the 30 day count was up, NWA imposed new terms on AMFA and deleted the work from their CBA.

Don't let the facts get in your way!

Come back with something new when you can.

That's a good point! If only 50 east guys will be moving to PHX and only 50 guys in the west will be going east, you mean to tell me we are holding the entire pilot group hostage for the benefit of 100 guys? This is why I think there can be a solution to the Nic list in conjuction with a joint contract. Fences, captain ratios, controlled domicile movement.

Again what you fail to realize is who is going to fly the east aircraft in 5-7 years when the east attrition has had maximum effect.....answer... the west. They will have to commute east to fill the large void created by the east attrition, therefore going ahead of the rest that once had a chance to checkout and now never will.

I hope your correct on a reasonable solution to our problem. I want nothing more than for both sides to prosper.

You know Junebug for someone who professes to be a professional pilot, I find your lack of decorum appalling.
Why would you assume that my behavior on this board has anything to do with my professionalism? This place is full of bitter and angry pilots as well as non-pilots who think they have all the answers. Being succinct, crass, and, mean is a formula that works here.

And, I might add, I'm not the one making comments like, "the east is at war with you" over ABQ Center's frequency (last trip) and "my day would be better if you and your family died in a car crash." Its those guys that can't separate this stuff whose professionalism you need to worry about.

I made a new game up for these type of guys. Its called, "Say Hello to the east pilot in PHL and watch his face turn red" game.

Don't worry PB, he is a toothpick who a child could stuff in a trash can. This is the only forum he can really be tough on because he can hide behind a screen name. In real life he likes to close meetings when the heat get to hot.

In piloting terms, its called all flaps and no throttle.
