AMR/APA might be nearing a deal!

Is it 3-1-1-1over four years, becomes amendable in 2012 or 0-0-0-0-3-1-1-1 over 8 years and becomes amendable in 2016?

I know! I know! Let me answer, teacher. It's 0-0-0-0-3-1-1-1. That way the execs don't have to worry about reaching another TA until sometime around 2025. By that time, we will be a subsidiary of BA, and their golden parachutes will have opened and wafted them gently to the ground at their mansions in the Caribbean.

Give them the gift of ZERO

The pilots have been negotiating a year longer than us. I would love to see that retro check !

FU PAY ME :D

Why do you say that???

The latest round of talks ran from Oct. 11 through earlier today
at an undisclosed location near the Texas-Oklahoma state line. It
was the third time in the past six weeks that negotiators had met
at a location away from the airline’s headquarters in an effort to
 reach a contract.

It looks as if the negotiations are getting closer to TUL. Maybe there is going to be some discussion with TWU 514?

Union spokesman Sam Mayer told The Associated Press that the pilots were willing to help the company deal with temporary crew shortages caused by a recent spike in retirements. But, he added, "Unless you see some pretty significant pay raises, whatever (the union sends) to the membership has zero chance of ratification."

Ray Neidl, an analyst with Maxim Group, said if the pilots group reaches an agreement, other unions at American may soon follow. In a research note on Friday, Neidl said the recent talk of a possible bankruptcy filing likely sped up the negotiating process between AMR and the APA.

"Just because there are intense talks does not necessarily mean that they will reach an agreement (since we believe the differences remain substantial), much less a contract that has a large cost savings agreement," Neidl wrote. "I rate the chances of a successful contract by next week no greater than one in three."

You got that right!! Only agreements we'll get will be from a BK judge.

I agree the only way AMR will be able to resolve all the open
contracts will be in front of a bankruptcy judge. Why take
another payout if you have to take another one front of
the judge. Absolutely not. The only way to fix this mess
is in bankruptcy.

Pilots will settle, twu will assume their usual contract negotiating position, and the flight attendants can have what the twu left on the table. Oh yeah, the Rangers will win in 6!

Actually fllight attendants are the only employee group that have shut
this company down. Remember 1993.
