American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

It was really dispiriting to see the public meet this with a resounding yawn. I truly hope this time's different.

I am glad to see that ALL our AA TWU Locals are on board now.

Under the old Administration Local 568 was again choosing to remain a separate Island off the Coast. Under “New Leadership” all of that has changed very quickly.

About Transport Workers Union of America, AFL-CIO

The Transport Workers Union of America, AFL-CIO represents nearly 140,000 members across the airline; railroad; transit, universities, utilities, and services; and gaming sectors. The American Airlines Should Care campaign is supported and funded by TWU Locals 501, 502, 505, 507, 510, 512, 513, 514, 529, 567, 568 and 591.

the website was cheaply done and disconnected. Looks like someone just tossed this up. The twu local unions are spending close to $1 million on crap.
The public doesnt care. They fly on southwest and united which contract out tons more. The iam refused to get involved once again.
I've been gone for a bit and when I return to this forum, I see we have the same two bit players. Didn't you get thrown out of the IAM for buying hookers in Houston, tiny Tim?

Dont try to over think it, buddy! You don't have the cranium capacity! Are you still trying to start your own union? What was the last one? GSW?? No body cares!!! You were a lousy organizer!!!

I am all for keeping aircraft maintenance jobs from going to third world countries with very little regulations. BIG BUT The public does not care, tickets are bought by price not where maintenance is accomplished..
De-icing is the overtime cow for fleet so don't act like it is imperative to keep in order to get a contract..
Most of the leaders are all fleet so maintenance again is being held hostage.
THIS TWU AMT MEMBERSHIP DESERVES EVERY THING THEY GET FOR BEING COMPLAINCENT..

Oh ok. So all of your Scope issues are resolved now and the Company doesn’t want to take any work from TUL, the Line Stations, and pretty much near all of Facilities and Automotive?

Can you show me something in writing (Since you yourself said you lost your Management insider) that tells me there aren’t still unresolved issues in your Groups?

Tick Tock.

BTW I know that you understand man hours and headcount. Care to tell me in each TWU city if any of that Deicing work is counted towards all around yearly numbers?

BTW the IAM side has no Fleet Members at all Negotiating. And you got Gary who Alex Garcia and Mike Mays have tremendous respect for.

Man, you are way off base and out of touch. Were you not aware us in Fleet allowed you guys too have your very own AMT negotiation committee!

It's about holding on to jobs jobs jobs, what don't you get??

GP is all about what is in it for him.
Alex Garcia nice guy twu lifer Fleet.
Mike Mays another twu lifer Fleet.
Sito does not have an issue with the scope company presented,
It is the best compared to all other Airlines.
Good luck trying to keep the scope we have today. I am a realist.
Wake up weasel....

You have a membership that will not fight. The ship sailed on unionism.
Today's union is WiiFM (what's in it for me)

ATD knows better than the average guy out there that at least in the TWU Alex and Mike would be yielding to whatever it is Gary tells them coming through the other Maintenance President’s as to what they will and won’t accept.

He knows Maintenance isn’t being held hostage to Fleet. It’s just crap he wants to sell cause he lost his insider and he’s probably pissed.

Lol. All you guys do is go for money and throw jobs away. United, here, Alaska, BA. At any rate, please go back to IAH as you are the best advertiser for Lisa L and her campaign to rid your craft of you goons.

I don’t know about your groups except what’s presented by my Union period. They tell me what the Company wants and I’m not reading the Company refuting any of it on Jetnet?

In my Group they want to make a “verbal” promise but don’t want to put it in writing. Again I believe what my Union tells me. The Company wants to slap the “When and where so directed” on our Scope to the degree that all I know it’s not attached to is Loading and Unloading the Bags from the planes.

Maybe the Company intends to offer us (What we already own BTW) Bagrooms, Transfer Drivers, Freight, Etc? But I haven’t heard anyone say “Hey Dave it’s cool we got that language”

I also have no clue if I’m going to have Full Time protection if they do outsource any of my work while I’m still on the clock? Do you know ATD?

If the Company says the Unions are lying well let em put it on Jetnet. They’ve done it a few times already haven’t they?

Working by the book is not a work action. Don’t know why people try to claim that it is. The problem with people not working by the book and taking shortcuts is because they want to get back to their card game, or the TV, or drinking coffee up in the terminal. Instead of actually doing the job the way the Company actually tells us and pays us to do it.

And I gave you the links to the CBS News reports and the letters from Politicians. Where do you think CBS got some of their information from in the first place.

FYI Airline Negotiations take a very long time today period. That’s it. People need to learn to accept that. We’re at officially 3 years and counting, SWA Mechanics are at 6 years and counting and it took UAL Mechanics over 5 years to get there deal.

And none of us would be counted as poor on any Government statistics that’s for sure.

And if people are struggling on what we make at TOS then they got some serious problems that aren’t going to be fixed because we get another couple of bucks an hour. Those people mostly dig their own holes.
So we are banking on CBS and letters from politicians, if that's the case then i'm sure we will have a contract in no time.

You have every right to accept that it takes 6 years to get a contract, I think it's unacceptable, it makes absolutly no sense to wait to vote on a proposal that will be the same in 6 years. It actually makes no difference if you are rich or poor, I have one vote and you have one vote and when you tally the votes the majority rules.

I am not here advocating to anyone which way they should vote, the reasons i would vote a certain way are personal, just like they are for you. What I am saying is its up to the membership as a whole to decide.

Are you kidding me bro. I think 6 years is ridiculous. I think we’ve even grown past the time that this has gotten ridiculous too at 3 years.

But I’m also not interested in relenting anymore.

You know we’re not even asking for the Company to give us back our Pension and Retiree Medical after they’ve spent 11 Billion Dollars on wasted share repurchases so far (2 Billion more authorized BTW)
