Alpa Ta Passes

Doesn't that mean that a majority of all pilots eligible to vote, voted for the TA. Is that the measure of passage, or is it just a majority of those voting?

Don't worry, the RC4 will use a "Roll Call" again to override what the actual majority of pilots want, and this will get fixed... <_<

Oppps, I forgot... Pilot ratification is the one thing that the RC4 cannot override. Huh. I wonder if this is why they did not want to send the earlier proposal out for a vote before...?

Funny, that’s the exact percentage that the last two IAM votes have passed by… although one took two votes to get there. Oh yeah, the second vote that passed, it just happened to be voted down by 57/43 percent during the first count? What's the odds???? I think I'll play the lottery today! :p

Hey, their right, all these unions do stick together… at least in the way they use their voting numbers! ;)

I said:
For what it's worth, the consensus among the locals at the Fort Mill BP station is that the vote will pass by between 55-60%.
I'd say they did pretty good for guys that hang out at a gas station all day, and only 2 of the 7 of them are actually U pilots!

well this pretty much seals the fate of the AFA, IAM, CWA...i would expect agreements for them before the judge starts a knocking....

Just one note of caution (following my own advice)

As of this exact time, there has not been an offcial announcement regarding the results posted or announced by ALPA National nor the Airways MEC.

Not saying a320av8r is wrong, just saying a quick check of the official sources had not turned up results news yet.

If a320av8r culd post the source in the meantime that would be cool, until then, I will wait until hearing the official version.

US Airways pilots ratify new contract

Pact cuts pay by 18%, reduces benefits

TONY MECIA

Staff Writer

US Airways' pilots ratified a new cost-cutting contract Thursday, with 57 percent of pilots voting in favor of the agreement, according to union sources.

The pact, which cuts pay by 18 percent and reduces benefits and job protections, will save the airline at least $300 million a year and is a major step forward in the company's efforts to survive.

US Airways, which has its largest hub in Charlotte, now turns its attention to negotiating with other labor groups such as flight attendants, ticket agents and mechanics.

Last week, a bankruptcy court judge imposed temporary pay cuts of 21 percent on union members as the airline negotiates with those groups. The pilots' agreement will supersede those court-imposed cuts.

The crew base vote break down was:

LGA
84% YES

BOS
68% YES

DCA
73% YES

CLT
73% YES

PIT
46% YES

PHL
48% YES

So much for a RC4 mandate. Now it's time to get "our flesh". Mwereplanes & BoeingBoy, how could you be so wrong, again?

Hate to break your bubble, but didn't we all hear that the last two times? Of course we did. What it will do is send people into the streets which is going to happen anyway, only now it will be with less of everything because of bunch of pilots who know nothing about sticking together will now learn that translates to falling apart.

The IAM might be wrong worrying about union leaders and their life styles too much but at least they act like a union and stand united when it’s really needed and not just give away the farm because of fear. If the IAM is bad then ALPA is totally unless and a disgrace to every union member on the planet, vote to mutilate yourselves and pay dues for the privilege! Bankruptcy my ice, you’re either a union or you’re not! Voting away everything you ever worked for is no union, not even a hint of one.

WTF? It looks to me like the RC4 have been representing the members of PIT and PHL. You know, the reason they are elected?
