Airbus319 in mobile

No way an AA 319 is in for a heavy, maybe in 3 years. All AA 319 & 321 come from
factory with new AA livery & all AA 319's have winglets.
It might not be for an overhaul but the first c-checks on airbuses are normally 18-24 months.

The heaviest check I think is in the 8-10 year range.

Either way we should have been setup to do some kind of check on the 319 by now. We voted this contract with the understanding of saving jobs. I wonder what kind of deal was signed between the company, TWU and airbus.

Hoping someone on the AA side is smart enough to police the farm out percentage....Over on the LUS side I know what the contract states but honestly don't think the IAM has a clue to the exact percentage....I have asked our AGC in the past and was given a blank stare....

PMUS maintenance program on the Airbus Narrowbody as it gets a C1-C12 in a five year period then an S-Check which is Heavy check every five to six years, depending on when the plane was built, US' original Airbus were on a five year S-Check, then newer builds were a six year.

And the PMUS IAM CBA is they can outsource 50% of Billable hours of heavy, PMAA is 35% of the total maintenance budget.

One would hope that your union is tacking the company on what it can outsource and how much it is outsourcing.

Fact is, IMHO, if you guys don't start doing something on the airbus soon, i would bet your union is letting the company get away with going over the limit. The fleet should be to big to not be doing at least something (components/engines) if the airframe little cs are going out.

know the TWU..... they are probably letting the company do what they want.

And knowing the IAM, your probably about to get crap scope for little pay increase on top of it....

I mentioned in another thread that the first 7 Airbus were to have their light C checks done in BFM, 4day span. Today, while talking to our local FAA rep, he mentions hearing they are to be done in hgr 2 at DFW beginning in September. Anyone at DFW hear that?

Yep. Heard that too. The word is that AA is moving on to the US maintenance program on the 319/321 and that the ones done Mobile weren't going to make it in time to be bridged. The LCs that AA used to do in TUL on other NBs will be done on a phase C on the line. Looks like the TUL boys will be coming out to join us soon.
