Another problem is that very few INV days will be given over Xmas with the usual line from the union that's all they could get and tried to get more. So no junior reserve will see the holidays, again. Looks like more coal from Santa kids!!

Did you see DCA's days off? I think there were 3 INV lines for XMAS.
Whatever, everyone's gonna have H1N1 anyway. Shame.

If our contract holds significant (and by that I mean HUGE) improvements, I'm happy to split from them. I've worked both with and without them and, while I prefer to stay with them, I'm a big girl who knows my contract, FAR's, and aircraft.

People in general don't like change and I'm sure lots of flight attendants who are having affairs with pilots will be oppossed to it. Quite frankly I have bills to pay and don't care who I fly with. There are good apples and bad apples everywhere. I'm quite content to take care of myself.
That will never happen...
we will not have HUGE improvements...
have you ever seen HUGE improvements in any contract??? All I have seen is HUGE concessions...
I am making my 5th year wages...and I have been here 26 years....

I have a question for the PHL f/a's.

I was poking around in catcrew this morning and a trip opened up and it was a deadhead to TLV via FRA on LH. Do you do that everyday? And why would we deadhead someone to TLV on another airline? Or was I just looking at that wrong?

Someone probably got sick in TLV and we had to get a crewmember over there asap. That's my guess...
Happy T-giving!

I don't think US operated any transatlantic flights on Thanksgiving as part of the reduced schedule. This is nothing unusual, over the holidays many international trips become 4-days and involve deadheading. Last year most of the crews stayed one night in their destination then were deadheaded to either FRA or LGW on LH or BA the next day for another layover, then a mass DH back on US. These trips tend to go reserves and have a very festive mood.

As opposed the deadhead nightmare all over Europe on every airline ever created ala 2008. I do think that was something that cost the former Director of Crew Scheduling his position. People trapped in London on the tarmac off Air Brussels for 3 hours with no way into the terminal. no ground transport from LHR costing crews huge taxi cab rides. Crews with no seats to deadhead home on hark...USAIRWAYS! Bumping paying PAX off!
This year was handled rather well. Really, it's the pilots. They refused 5 day trips (and rightfully so...why grant relief when this place just takes advantage).
The bookings were way down anyway that day. The cost of operation just didn't match up.
