AFA Labor Relations thread 6/17-

WHEN oh WHEN are they going to post the results of the displacements?!

It's been 24 hours since the bid closed and no one knows a thing...

I called PHL AFA Tue 6/29/10 5pm ..... PHL displacements are out.............But nothing in on Wings nor on AFA web site.

Some people were called from what I hear. Others called the union to find out. I have not been told, but looked in CATCREW under Aug. and it is CLT. It stopped 6 people above me and I am 5/1/2000. I have heard that 9 people have been bumped out of DCA.

I am disgusted that somehow the company is unable to call people and tell them their fate and/or post it on wings. /shrug.

****The above post contains some second hand information and I do not claim it to be 100% true.

I was told by several reserves in dc that not only were the displaced called around 3:00 p.m yesterday, but the ones who were not displaced were also personally called with the good news.

Day 2 and I haven't been called, emailed, sent a messenger pigeon... nothing, and I am getting displaced.
Sad.

Blockholders wake up! You need to quit eating and understand that your problem is electrifying the reserve situation in Philly. You are all so greedy and does anyone even know there will only be 39 secondary lines in Philadelphia for August? What if that were your life line? and as long as you allow John McCorkle and his dream team to get away with murder you ultimately deserve what you get in the end. nothing has been told to you nothing at all and you all sit like lambs to the slaughter. Lazy lazy lazy!

Baja what you just said is 1000% spot on. When some senior momma heard 39 secondary lines in the crew room today she had the look of a deer in headlights. SERIOUSLY? People didn't see this coming? Ok sure the company didn't really give enough info for some to make the choice of leaving PHL for CLT but it was no secret the time was going. Now look what is happening. Believe me the company isn't done. It's amazing how deaf and blind our group can be. Enjoy your recrews and welcome to sitting in crashpads. It won't be the same as when some in PIT sat LTO reserve while in their own HOME. BIG difference....BIIIIIIIIG difference baby. :D

Well, maybe, just maybe, this will be the wake-up call for those in the upper echelons (all departments, not just some) to stop eating the Ice Cream Sundaes, listen and do something!

This holiday weekend was almost as bad as Christmas a few years back, except it didn't hit the papers! On the CLT RSV list, there were more N/As than AVLs. I'm sure PHL was even worse. They apparently had to cancel pairings in their entirety due to lack of FA staffing ... or should we say, lack of planning???

You had a holiday weekend AND lead-ins .... Did you really think you were going to skate by? Tripping over the dollars picking up pennies yet again!

Like I said, maybe ..... and I'll go out and wish upon that first star I see tonite! Oh wait, that's a satellite, does that count?

Yeah RIGHT! A wake up call? Ringity ding ding ding DONG! They don't get it. I wonder what kind of breakdown in communication is occurring between the people who sit behind the desk and the people on the front line.

People upstairs need to be accountable for this staffing fiasco. People are going to be sick the rest of the summer. It's just a fact and I hate to say it, but the ones who are getting displaced are especially burnt, tired, and beaten to death. Sorry, but them's the facts.

I hear ya sister, I am one of them!

PHL E-line is out with the Primary and Secondary numbers for PHL and CLT for July and Aug. Also, some numbers for CLT in Sept.

I will never take for granted my seniority, health, relationships, life lessons, and the ability to look towards the best one has to offer. Thus spoke ........
