For that matter, things are NOT peaches and cream in Tulsa and I don't understand why EVERY Tulsa mechanic has not signed their card either?

We in Tulsa are just as screwed as others. We have had several suicides over the last month, workers are being harrassed by collection agencies, I know many that are having their checks garnished for financial judgements against them, and personal bankruptcy filings are also on the rise.

AMFA might not fix everything, but to not take a stand against the TWU is a fools game!

OR at the very least, a stake in their heart.

I thought you took a break from posting your corporate rhetoric... JIM?
It is a known fact that the current concession agreement will stay in place if we go AMFA. SO if you believe a change in our representation will drive a stake then blame the TWU for it, because the agreement in place will stay in place!

I base my opinion of the general feeling in TULSA having spoken to many a TULSA mechanic over the years who have come to JFK on field trips.

Time and Time again, everyone of the TULSA mechanics I have spoken with repeated the same reasons for staying with TWU. Those reasons were they were happy with TWU and did not want to make any waves and disrupt their way of life. They could never imagine living anywhere else and the TWU insured that TULSA would always exist.

So RV4, can you please give a rational explanation why TULSA hasn't signed more cards then?

We have more cards signed than any other station in the system, we are dealing with a huge group of people, and given the OSM, Jr. Mechanic, B-Scale, and Early Out Hunters, we are dealing with many diverse divisions.
I am not making excuses, this is a big operation and moves slowly.
Give us a little more time!

RV4: I really hope so!

I think USAir will be next and I would hate to have AA mechanics miss the boat!

There are many opinions on the AMFA argument as their are many opinions on the AA/TWA seniority issue. I will admit and I made no secret of my opinions on the AA purchase of TWA and I certainly made no secret of my feelings on the seniority issue. But one point I have stated time and time again is that the TWU IS SLEEPING WITH AA MANAGEMENT! We as mechanics, mainly on the line, have been getting betrayed by the TWU along with the everything is peaches and cream TULSA base. Do you folks from TWA see how the TWU cozies up to the management? Have you ever seen the IAM perform this way?

I don't understand why EVERY TWA MECHANIC HAS NOT SENT BOTH AA AND THE TWU A MESSAGE BY SIGNING AN AMFA CARD!

WHAT ELSE DO YOU HAVE LEFT TO LOSE? YOUR RANKS HAVE BEEN DECIMATED AND YOUR EMPLOYEES TREATED WORSE THAN THIRD WORLD NATIONS.

AMFA might not be our saviour, but why would you continue to pay dues to the TWU?
The TWU is a bus drivers' union!

I can't understand why every line mechanic at AA hasn't signned a card.

STOP SUPPORTING THE TWU!
VOTE AMFA AND PUT ANOTHER THORN IN AA'S SIDE!

I agree, but at this point I don't care if we are LAST as long as we get on the boat. Missing the boat would leave the most docile union in the industry in place, and place negative pressure on the revolutionaries of the other airlines.
FAILING is NOT an OPTION.
WE MUST GET ON THAT BOAT!

And all of the TWU airlines? How are they performing?

Why would you say that? AMFA is at enough airlines now that you can get a good idea of their impact on a carrier's operation. It appears to me that their impact is about zero or maybe even borderline positive. I haven/t heard any stories that any AMFA mechanics at any airlines are overly militant and are causing disruption. All the AMFA airlines are doing relatively well, although you should exclude SWA and UAL's performance from an analysis as AMFA is far too new there.

The point is to punish the TWU by taking away our union dues. AMFA may not get us anything more that we have now. But at leat we can send the TWU a message that the party's over!

Yep, that is the popular sentiment exactly.

How can anyone support an organization like amfa who gives the companies unlimited Heavy Maintenance Farmout Language.

NW closing Maintenance bases, Heavy Maintenance being performed overseas, Massive Layoffs.

United unlimited Farmout rights, Closing Maintenance Bases, and massive layoffs.

Alaska Closing Maintenance in Seatle and farming out 737 Maintenance.

SWA No Heavy Maintenance Lack of Participation, and begging for help from the members to participate.

ATA unlimited Farmout Language.

What a record to be proud of! Soon the Line AMT's will be outsourced as well.

amfa is powerless to stop this injustice and they continue to allow this to happen.

A Signed card means your allowing this to Continue! What a record.

TWU SOLIDARITY!
