AA employees get 4% raises

Wouldn't surprise me if they were trying to push into a northwest type corner. The architect is here.

A true leader would give every workgroup the 4% regardless if you have a joint contract or not. Everyone one of the unions agreed to this merger which has made this company very profitable. So why the favoritism? Why the conditions? Why not give 3% to every work group and the extra 1% when you sign a joint agreement?
A true leader is smart...he just dangled the carrot...now bite or shut up )

NMB Overview

The National Mediation Board (NMB), established by the 1934 amendments to the Railway Labor Act of 1926, is an independent U.S. Federal-government agency that facilitates labor-management relations within the nations railroad and airline industries. Pursuant to the Railway Labor Act, NMB programs provide dispute-resolution processes to effectively meet its statutory objectives: avoiding interruption to commerce or to the operation of any carrier; forbidding any limitation upon freedom of association among employees; providing for the prompt and orderly settlement of all disputes concerning rates of pay, rules, or working conditions; and providing for the prompt and orderly settlement of all disputes growing out of grievances related to the implementation and management of collective bargaining agreements.

You're right.  Senior moment.

Ok I can see all the non-union getting raises as the company sees fit, but giving it to some contract groups and not others as a form of Union Busting based on a JCBA  status? Not sure if thats legal. We all have valid contracts in place.  Hopefully the TWU, APA and CWA/IBT files suit, and the APFA understands whats going on. Either every Union gets it or no one does. Disparate treatment.

Yup, Parker can increase our pay anytime he wants to, regardless of contract status, has nothing to do with if its a JCBA or not.

I'm sure our union will accept any and all NSA raise.

When we do get the increase, is it retro to this announcement? If not, why not?

lets see last time we negotiated for what 5 years....so when we get a contract it will be that much better? lol. maybe we can get a few more bulletin boards as a mid term adjustment?

Unions could cite it violates AA own regs as far as disparate treatment. To after the fact change the rules and say those that have JCBAs will be treated like non-union and be granted wage increases outside of the collective bargaining process would be no different than if the company picked out certain individuals within a Union and decided to give them a raise and nobody else.

The other Unions on the property could cite that by giving the APFA a wage increase outside of collective bargaining that they are not being treated equally, since its a pay issue, perhaps claim its a major dispute and resort to self help.

I think the Other Unions need to be in Court Friday Morning.
