AA and Labor Negotiations-2020

This should cover the 401k contribution. See paragraph #5.
according to paragraph 5 the 401K contribution can be held off being implemented until jan 2021 . Did I read that correctly what are your interpretations of this plan. On my apr 17 check my 401K company match is 5.5% when do we go to the 9% does anyone out there know when this will happen per the union.

It states between May 2020 until January 2021 on the TWU side the company will contribute 9% without any contribution from the employer. On the IAM side it states that the company will will contribute 4% without employee contributions.
This was done because in order for fidelity to get every member affected under the association agreement on the plan would take weeks or months. So for now TWU gets 9% and IAM gets 4%. I'm not familiar with the contribution details with the IAMPF. As soon as fidelity gets all members in the plan then it will resort to the contractual agreement. It may be sooner than January of 2021 but they gave this timeline to cover themselves. That's the way I read it and was also explained to us in a union meeting last month.

Gentlemen I think the reason that will get the 9%, without any employee contribution, is that between May 1, 2020 and no later than January 1, 2021 there will be a time period that there will be no contributions made ( employer matching and employer non-elective/ 4% match, 5% non-elective ) paragraph 5 states until such time that contributions can be made effective. Paragraph 5a states that TWU employees will receive the 9% with no employee contribution required, and paragraph 5b states that IAM employees will receive the 4% with no employee contribution, but IAM employees will get the funds that go into the Pension Plan starting on May 1, 2020 as per the first line of paragraph 5. Also the contributions will now be made on a monthly basis instead of the current per paycheck basis, so we will lose the compounding time of those contributions that are currently made on a per check basis.

I don't know about anyone else, but I feel a helluva lot better now.

"On April 3, 2020, both the Company and the TWU/IAM Association withdrew their appeals regarding the Permanent Injunction. Because of the resolution of the dispute, the Judge granted them both, and the lawsuit is dissolved."

So I wonder how long it will take for the ASS, to cave into concessions once American starts talking about them just as UA and WN have already said.
I’m not sure I’ve ever been able to enjoy a pay raise in such a short period of time as this one will be.

I'm guessing one year, about how long we had our last big pay raise before concessions.

we got a big pay raise in sept 2018 that was not taken back and we got a big raise in apr 2001 that was taken back in apr 2003 so what big pay raise was taken back in 1 year refresh my memory i seem to have forgotten

Which is why the mechanics need to step it up and get enough cards signed pronto. Our Unions have already been approached, United as well. I assure you it has already been discussed if not proposed at your airline as well. The companies are preparing for the worse come Oct 1st. Stash the cash boys and girls, it's coming...

I stand corrected, yes it was two years.....my bad

If things don't improve by October to an acceptable level I see another early out package before any layoffs hit the workforce. Who determines an acceptable level? Probably the same guy who said we will never lose money again.
