AA and Labor Negotiations-2020

Bidding for shifts and vacation is company business. Voting on a union contract is Union business.
Did I really have to spell it out for you? GEEZZZ.
Not quite following you here 1AA. Voting on a union contract while you are unionized at work, is in fact company business. Especially if you work at an employer that requires you to be in the union as part of employment. Don't let any employer tell you different. Which is why (at least where I work) the company allows the union to hold meetings, updates, and informational gatherings on company property as well as on the clock. Voting on an "employment" contract while being union is in fact company business as well as union business as they are a partnership rather they want to admit it or not.
Now, voting on Local leadership, National leadership, union rafles, or cmte members is all union business. But voting on an employment contract is company business as it is necessary for your job.

It's about access to your work areas by using your ID when your not on the clock. If your on duty then it's not an issue. TSA and airport authority regulations. I've seen letters posted about this at the work place from TSA. That's the point I'm making. I hope the TWU decides to setup shop for voting on the non security area. I believe it's referred to as non--aoa. It's not a problem as long as it's done accordingly. Just because it was done a certain way before does not mean it's right. Keep it simple and do it right.

And they add thousands daily. Not you NYer but some of these guys sound like they want the company to have bad results...what's wrong with them?

Because we're being trained to believe everything the airline does is bad or stupid. We're lead to believe the Executives sir in their offices thinking of ways to screw us.

AA I owe you a half of an apology after talking to a TWU old timer who happens to be way more involved with the union then I am.He explains it is totally legal to vote at work but the unions have always frowned upon it feeling the company will try to influence the workers one way or the other. So the union does not want it on company property. But as I said we have done it before and other unions do it now

So here we are nearing 5 pm DFW time and nothing yet from the union on finishing the contract language
I expect by this time tomorrow we will get the same old excuse we’ll there is still more to go over like how many layoffs there will be over the summer downturn for the airlines
Get ready we are about to be hosed and all thanks to this Ass dragging it’s feet for months on getting this done sooner

This is what I received:
T/A available online tomorrow

Informational rollout on 3/17 and 3/19 at the Westin on North end of airport

Vote 3/26. Space secured at DFW for voting

No apology needed. But thank you for it. My point has always been the TSA and airport authorities regulations on accessing your work areas with your airport ID when your not working. I could care less about the influence the company may impose. Our low level management are just as screwed as we are by the big shots in HDQ.
I hope voting areas will be in convenient locations at or near the work place. So far other than Tulsa and DFW on the TWU side there has been no information yet on locations. Still waiting for the contract to be released as of this posting and 16 days to go until we are to vote. It's crunch time and we have no language to crunch on yet.
