I was immediately hit with an image of Chip holding aloft the White "Battle" Flag and rallying the "troops" at cliff's edge.

What an inspirational flag it would be!  Perhaps a white backround and featuring the image of an Arnold Stang lookalike with freshly laid hair plugs.  And beneath the grinning dunce the words, "Judicial Estoppel."

Calling Captain Gay!  Calling F/O Jurkov!
How we miss the strange encounters in the PHX crew news sessions when the stuttering Cleardirect lurched towards a startled Scott Kirby insisting on the Nic. The raincoat man, the wild Susie and her pack of kids, Youse guys man. Tony the T Bone Anger on Twitter. Check out those rants. Eric Auxier and those narcissistic Cat3 videos. What an awesomely wacky collection of pilots. america west HR was seriously out to lunch. HPEarlyretiree most likely is responsible for much of it, and he ended up in the trash business subsequently. Fitting.

Funny DAN! No Really you mention the shuttle pilots, NIC 1 I believe, yet anybody trying to change ALPA merger policy was powerless to do so because of the majority, imagine that! DOH killed any attrition based system ALPA embraced dues money and any 2bit airline, commuter , and then arrives guys with 3 seniority numbers  leapfrog interests undermining the whole system ATP, 23 to get hired and MANDATORY AGE 65 RETIREMENT. The rest BS! Manegements hire bodies to fill seats, !

Never fear, if we go the strong arm route Glass will crack a few whips and have enough lemmings peal off, form new ranks, and head for the cliffs.
Lemmings must be incredibly tough critters because they jump off the cliff and come back for more.......it must be the thrill of the fall.

After offering all present a few more inspiring, brilliant thoughts on future company stock values, the order to charge off the cliffs is given: "Follow me men! Trust me! We can't possibly ever get any better deal than this!..It's all for the BEeeeeeessst!"----SPLAT! ;)
I see the enemy, we have them surrounded, wave the white flag!

Thanks for the laugh Claxon.

Perhaps....or it may simply be the case that they tragically breed in such vast numbers that no one ever really much misses the pitiful voices of those that've already tiptoed-through-the-tulips over the cliffs.

LOL...Indeed Bob. I hope that "Ivan" is properly well-prepped for this year's winter ops, and that you and all yours are well sir. :)

My admittedly Jurassic era business school training must differ with you there Clax. AWA had the very least to offer anyone, lowest pay, no pension/no aviation industry respect/etc, and thus had to "trim" their expectations of applicants appropriately. See listings under "You get what you pay for"/etc. Given their management though; one must wonder whether washing out of USAF pilot training, wearing purple wigs and tutus, and/or having at least 4 criminal convictions for drunken behavior wasn't perhaps possibly, even considered a "plus"?....? ;)

One thing's an absolute certainty: AWA never performed even the slightest testing for basic intelligence (or even just essential sanity at ANY levels)....Seriously, HOW else can one even possibly begin to attempt to explain the following?...Oh "Lords and Ladies?..."Battles"...."Knights"...."War"..."We dire wolves of westerfeld"..."Our inevitable victories"...."The dragons at AMR"..."fellow knights"..."that makes us mighty"? I must honestly note that I've never before seen or even imagined the likes of such "professionals" anywhere else within the aviation community.

Gentlemen:

It seems I overstepped a bit with my observations that AWA always offered the very, very least to even the most utterly marginals within the aviation community, and apparently had zero "standards" other than a pulse and perhaps even opposable thumbs. From another board's postings it seems that where the east/usapa went wrong was in not offering lanyards, or even $26 in beads for their PHX island:

Remember the "Good Union Pilot" lanyards the East made to show solidarity against management? Not one West pilot was ever given one of those...... Some "Union".

To any within the APA/AMR community, I'd suggest taking heed of the following, and NEVER turn your backs on any AWA "pilot" that will cheerfully "turn you in", but really not-so-much as to ever honestly concern yourselves with these pathetic village idiots: "USAPA started an illegal job action without even attempting to get the West pilot's support. Remember the "Good Union Pilot" lanyards.... Not one West pilot was ever given one of those. Some guys asked and were told they couldn't have one. Some "Union".

"USAPA started an illegal job action without even attempting to get the West pilot's support." One must now presume that it would've been seen in the west as an entirely legal job action, had only the PHX "army" of umm..."spartans" been given Good Union Pilot lanyards...?

Sigh!...Do make sure to grant all such infantile idiots at least a lanyard, if you ever expect their "heroic" support as anything other than "righteously" pouting little wannabe strike breakers...Otherwise, anything you wish will become an "illegal job action", and you can fully expect those disgustingly pathetic children to even ask of their beloved CEO how they can "turn them" (you) "in".... ;)

Former america west pilots fading with barely a whimper, save for an occasional hiding of headsets, bag blocking, turning off cockpit devices.
Their LOA 93 taunts turned on them. Another east bid, and no america west pilots again on 330. Never has a group miscalculated so badly. All because the 2004 hires were so entitled.
Eric Ferguson turned down the Nic. It would be in force right now.

Ivan has behaved well this year which only makes me a bit suspicious given his country of origin. He will more than likely wait until the snow is 4 ft. deep in the driveway to show his "redness". I've been busy catching up on those things that I got behind on while working but we are doing ok otherwise and I hope you are well!

ROB, Retired Old Bob :)

Poor Captain Gay. The APA read with interest his travels with corporate to NC to observe the injunction hearings. Will he continue to throw his temper tantrums.? He honestly looks like an idiot with that tie.
Do not be angry with east pilots Steve Gay. You were the idiot who hung on every word that half a$$ed "lawyer" Ferguson said.
