WELCOME HOME JERRY GLASS...........In case anyone was wondering in what form the company's new culture would take, it was answered. Jerry Glass has been hired to negotiate for the company. The APA has placed a line in the sand with scope. Now the company has placed the most decisive person to deal with the APA. It's going to get messy as 'an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.'

For those new to the company and those that need a refresher course, Jerry Glass is the master at fragmentizing unions. In the past, our management has often stated that they always need at least a 10% employee cost advantage over the competition, so when you hear them say they want us to have parity with Delta, it's all smoke and mirrors. In my opinion, by demanding Scope and knowing that is a 'hot button' item and a non-starter with all unions, Parker has fired his first broadside knowing we will not accept it. It gives him the ability to force this to an arbitrator where the MOU we all signed said that any new contract must be cost neutral. He gets to say we couldn't come to an agreement and he gets his cost advantage contract til 2018. After that, he can stall for at least 5 years.

So, it will be interesting to see how the APA deals with Jerry Glass and the Parker/Kirby we have all come to know.

Hang on, it's going to be a bumpy night!

Pretty much, and the situation's well summed up with your initial observation alone: "WELCOME HOME JERRY GLASS...........In case anyone was wondering in what form the company's new culture would take, it was answered. Jerry Glass has been hired to negotiate for the company."...and, meanwhile-back-at-the-APA-ranch (in an obvious show of "strength") they're placing the likes of "Goat Boy" on the supposedly "Strike" prep committe?...What could possibly go wrong?

Good luck to all concerned.

Same. They're the reason the Pilots will get what they get.

Plus 1 here gentlemen.

It's time to Break the Glass !  He is the biggest POS you will ever meet.  Remember HIS BONUS depends on how much APA caves.

As clueless as the APA is I hope they at least talk to us about our experience with Glass.

Even with a simple search for Jerry on Youtube, one can find him being interviewed about the Delta Flight Attendants (who voted to reject unionizing) and an interview about the UAW trying "new dishonest tactics" to unionize the auto workers of foreign cars made in the US.  He seems like a very nice gentleman, but then every time a jumpseater comes into the cockpit (yes I said cockpit) and says "hi, gentlemen" the response is "who you talkin' too?".

jerry glass was partially responsible for the 2004 Christmas meltdown in Philadelphia IMHO.

It is a corporations job and responsibility to negotiate contracts, but jerry glass was over the top, very disrespectful to employees and their unions.

In 2004 jerry glass demanded the end of pilot crew meals.  When informed by alpa that the pilots needed nutrition during their very busy work day,
glass' response was;

"Brown bag it."

Crew meals were then delivered in pink boxes shortly afterwards, alpa eventually made it one of the give backs.

Indeed. Interestingly enough though; I saw even that received some "spartan's" minus vote already. The APA would first have to very reasonably ignore the "spartan" cheerleaders, who still (amazingly) imagine themselves "first-name-basis-"buddies" with "Doug." The net effect of adopting the AWA bunch is nothing more than to further dilute the percentage of vertebrates by at least a thousand or so entirely self-obsessed, "Cactus" emblazoned-kneepad wearing village idiots, that'd sell out anyone in an instant for their own, momentary gain.  I can only wish the APA lotsa' luck with that little tribe.

Yea, some professional. I think I saw you at the theater years ago getting popcorn, Top Gun.

Sigh!...No shortage of "plus" votes for that brilliant missive....One can now only wonder just how many ferocious "spartans" equally suffer from entirely delusional "popcorn, Top Gun" fantasies of themselves? While movies explain much there; the video games they put out for kids these days must truly be something else.  Could someone in the "Army of Leonidas" please explain to us all exactly what a self-styled "A320 Fighter Pilot", like your wash-out at even the FBI interview process actually is? Afford the world a better understanding of the "spartan army" umm..."mind"-set. Help at least one clueless old frump out with this: Does all that "Top Gun"/"A320 Fighter Pilot" nonsense mean XBox, or is it Playstation?

"Yea, some professional." Easy son. We're all limited in our perspectives from what little we've seen in life, and I can only say that I've never heard anyone much fret over any A320 ever burning their tail feathers off....even with the finest-ever "spartan" umm..."Fighter Pilot" inputting data to the ship's autopilots.
