Both engines were operating normally until they each ingested at least two large birds (weighing about 8 pounds each), one of which was ingested into each engine core, causing mechanical damage that prevented the engines from being able to provide sufficient thrust to sustain flight."

The captain’s decision to ditch on the Hudson River rather than attempting to land at an airport provided the highest probability that the accident would be survivable."

But hey, that jackwagon knows better than the NTSB.

"But hey, that jackwagon knows better than the NTSB." Sigh...Obviously, just ask him. "Pretty much says it all." The folks at American really should be warned about these clinically delusional people/"dire wolves"/"knights"/"spartans"/wizards/whatever.

Hey rat. You just can't handle the fact that little ol America West purchased your garbage can POS airways.

AWE

And you can't handle the fact that we've cleaned your clock over the last decade, and proved, again and again, and yet again, which was the viable franchise.  I can hear the crickets chirping in PHX.  I didn't realize they could survive in that climate.

snapthis was on this forum bragging how he was going to withhold USAPA dues owed.

You can see that I was on DCO and a MIGS until USAPA was decertified. You claim I was withholding dues owed. Those are my thoughts.

I agree. They should be fairly warned. Don't forget to include that linked caption: "Pretty much says it all".

Rest assured all this has been brought to their attention, Doyal the "fighter pilot". The one who could have landed at JFK, it's all quite impressive to the AA boys.

Crickets chirping? It's the sound of the coming reality check. This is not over by a long shot. The gains you stole for the original pilots of this airline is going to come to a halt. Phoenix was viable at the time Ametica West purchased the problem in 2005. What you needed was the reality check of being on the street and having to send out applications. Maybe that reality check would have made people like you and that FA who disrespected the soldier last week a little more humble.

Your culture SUCKed prior to 2005 and you brought your misery to what used to be an enjoyable job.

Funny, As many pilots I have spoke with,I have NEVER EVER heard one say, they would rather have worked for America West. No mater where they were employed.

Like usair was the top pick of anybody who wanted to be at a Major Airline? Piedmont? Give me a break. What makes you think you could have gotten an interview or kept from scraping your tail on the simulator profile?

What a joke.

Yea, all our guys are happy as could be, very enjoyable job. What airline has one year captains and new hires in wide body's along with rapid growth and not locked in any one base.

YOU could have had it but you CHOSE not to join in, you need to take responsibility for your actions, remember WYE RIVER?

Tell us how good AWA was doing, "PROJECT ZANZIBAR" ring a bell.

And always remember we saved your sorry arses!

UNITED STATES SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION
Washington, D.C. 20549
FORM 10-Q
On September 26, 2007, as part of the integration efforts following the merger of US Airways Group and America West Holdings Corporation (“America West Holdings”) in September 2005, America West Airlines, Inc. (“AWA”) surrendered its Federal Aviation Administration (“FAA”) operating certificate. As a result, all mainline airline operations are now being conducted under US Airways’ FAA operating certificate. In connection with the combination of all mainline airline operations under one FAA operating certificate, US Airways Group contributed one hundred percent of its equity interest in America West Holdings to US Airways. As a result, America West Holdings and its wholly owned subsidiary AWA are now wholly owned subsidiaries of US Airways. In addition, AWA transferred substantially all of its assets and liabilities to US Airways. All off-balance sheet commitments of AWA were also transferred to US Airways. This transaction constituted a transfer of assets between entities under common control and was accounted for at historical cost.
