Dear Phoenix Pilots,

Welcome to the Allied Pilots Association. Monday was a historic day for the former America West Airlines pilots as we moved into a new era. Today, we will not rehash the unfortunate history of the last 6.4120 years of "representation" under the former bargaining agent, as that is now largely behind us. We do want to thank those of you who volunteered to serve during those dark days and hope you will consider volunteering to serve with APA.

We encourage you visit the APA website and ensure you are signed up to receive all APA email updates. While you are there, be sure to explore the many optional benefits available to you as an APA member under the “Benefits/Services” tab. We believe you will find most of those products to be cost-competitive and worth your consideration, especially in light of the new benefits package for 2015 and the upcoming enrollment period.

We would like to thank the pilots of LAX, LAX Chairman CA Steve Roach and LAX Vice Chairman CA William Boyd, in addition to the Membership Committee, for working diligently to provide a seamless transition to APA membership for our pilots. We would also like to thank David Simmons for his willingness to continue watching after your interests from within the former bargaining agent, and we are grateful to Lee Fife and Jeff Koontz, who have accepted our DDRs on that board until it is properly dissolved.

We are honored to continue serving you as your PHX reps and are ready to carry on ensuring your rights are defended and our collective interests advanced within APA and New American. We fully expect and are optimistic that better days are forthcoming, but we will remain vigilant for any unforeseen threats.

Again, we are pleased to welcome Phoenix to the APA and eager to get to work serving you while using the many powerful tools provided by your new union.

Sincerely,

John Scherff, APA PHX Chairman
PHX-Chair@alliedpilots.org

Eric Ferguson, APA PHX Vice Chairman

Written by West pilots......nothing like seeing West pilots stroking each other.....a little incestuous in my opinion.

Why is some random LLC in North Carolina sending emails to phoenix pilots regarding a USAPA "representational election "?
Meaningless election from a decertified fake union.

Everyone has left the stands, they lost the game. Pickleballers.

The forum is not user friendly, it's right up there with paper bidding. I agree, the Usapians are off to a very bad start.

AWE

I responded to Jim W. the next morning and corrected his misconception.

Hey you should post this way over there as well. That way the LAA will have better insight into your mindset.

"All glory is fleeting." ~~~ A caution to Roman Conquerers, whispered by a slave assigned to stand behind him in parades... Glory on a forum is even more fleeting.

Cockroaches, asbestos, and court rulings persist to cause trouble far longer.

What misconception?

Maybe I should post over there? How do you think I was able to read the posts? Come on KV. We all know each other from the Cactus forum.

Don't make me 'splain' it to you over and over. The misconception on his part was that the 17 year pilot was furloughed.

My comment above urged you to post in the same way, using the same vitriol, that you regularly employ here.

You know, so the LAA guys and gals can get to know you better, like I do.

Remember, the acquisition was in 2005, not 2007. I'll be all over you, if you forget.

The APA board is like a fresh new garden, with a neat new experimental plant called western kudzu. Kudzu has no roots in court but flourishes on web boards.

Revenue Share from the Retirement Savings Plan for Pilots (“RSP”) – East Pilot’s Plan

An ongoing dispute has led to a complaint being drafted by outside counsel, O’Dwyer & Bernstein, LLP that will charge the Company with a breach of fiduciary responsibility under ERISA and with fraud, regarding actions taken by the Company as plan sponsor from 2003 through 2011. A grievance was filed in April of 2013 when, as a result of new reporting requirements, it was revealed that the Company had failed to cover all expenses of the RSP as required by LOA 85, which was the agreement that led to the termination of our Defined Benefit pension plan.

Put simply, the Company was contractually required to pay all plan expenses. Until the new reporting requirements, they used revenue sharing monies that were to be returned to the pilots to cover expenses. This practice of using the revenue share generated by our Plan to cover the plan expenses only came to light with the change in reporting requirements that went into effect in 2012, requiring more transparency. A member of the R&I Committee in years past had continually asked for the revenue share details, but to no avail.

Another complaint, this one charging Fidelity, had been drafted by the O’Dwyer firm a number of weeks ago. This draft complaint was shared with Fidelity prior to filing in the Court. Fidelity subsequently partially participated in our request for information. From that information it was determined that a claim under ERISA against the Company was appropriate.

We are currently in talks with the Company in an attempt to settle this dispute without formally filing our complaint. We will keep you informed.

Dear sir you have missed the point.

The posters on the APA board are now fully aware of the kudzu unleashed in their garden (whatever it may have been), but any poster here who has not ventured over there may yet be curious....

The point being to posters here, there is nothing new over there.

Luv all you scabs begging on the APA board, so pathetic, my AA buddies are laughing there ars off, they have your number boys, get up off your knees.

PS They are working on a list as we speak in an effort to avoid MB, who knows it might work out!
