Looks like there will be a vote, but for anyone besides the APA to get on the ballot there needs to be a showing of interest greater than 50% of all pilots. This showing of interest is due in 30 days, and then there will be an election. So we all get the choice of voting for APA or Nobody.
Hmmmm. I suppose the east pilots won't be able to keep their union now. What will happen with their tyranny of the majority.

It's been shifted to a new tyranny, except the APA has the judicial stamp to do it from Judge Silver (see Footnote 15). So, all that has been accomplished over the last six years is to solidify that the majority alone can decide what is in the best interests for all, and the minority can't sue until there is a seniority list. The irony is that the Nicolau is very much still in play because now it will be arbitrators who decide the East/West issue.

Just asking , how does that work? Wouldn't USAPA just hand them the list they have now? Then the west would have to fight that ?

I wonder how quickly The APA slammed their notebooks and walked out of the fake PA "mediation" this morning?

You are right about the arbitrators, unless a miracle happens and they come up with a list. I believe the NIC floated away with all of the money sent to Harper.

I hope it did. The Nic isn't good enough for the West anymore. Stay tuned. You wanted a do over? Beware what you wish for.

Believe what you want, but the process has moved beyond the majority influence of the East. In other words, the past six years has zero relevance to the Nic and how the East/West issue is settled.

Marty can talk you kids into believing anything. P. T. Barnum had it right!

The only single list in hand, the Nicolau Award?
But wait! You're all about keeping agreements, right? Well the agreement in place says "seniority lists in effect ". Has the Nic ever been in effect? No.

Got that right. New party in PHX! Nobody saw this coming(that's sarcasm, for those that can't tell)

Not you Aqua. Heard good things about your work outside of this issue. Thanks.

You don't think the contract that we entered into because of this mess and the ruling of federal judge over the legality of that contract will play any part going forward?

National Mediation Board Ruling

APA INFORMATION HOTLINE

This is APA Communications Director Gregg Overman with the APA Information Hotline for Friday, Aug. 8.

NATIONAL MEDIATION BOARD RULING: The National Mediation Board has determined that American Airlines and US Airways "are operating as a single transportation system for representation purposes" in response to APA's Jan. 15, 2014, application for a single-carrier determination. The NMB issued its determination at noon Eastern today.

In accordance with the NMB's standard procedures, APA "and any Intervenor have 30 days from the date of this determination to file an application supported by a showing of interest of at least 50% of the single transportation system." APA has previously submitted evidence to the NMB that we represent approximately two-thirds of the combined pilot group.

At the end of the 30-day period, the NMB will either certify APA as the bargaining agent for the pilots of American Airlines or call for an election between APA and no union.

That's it for now. Thank you for checking this hotline.
