PHX Domicile Meeting Notice

Attention PHX Pilots of both USAPA and APA,

We will be conducting a PHX Domicile Meeting on Monday, July 21, at the Phoenix DoubleTree Airport, from 1000-1400.

We are still working on the Agenda, but here is the tentative list of speakers and Agenda items.

USAPA Officers Gary Hummel, Steve Smyser, Rob Streble
APA
NAC Chairman Dean Colello and NAC member Ken Holmes, with APA Negotiator David Brown (and Benefits Manager Sherry Taylor)
USAPA FAR 117 Specialist and Scheduling Chairman Les Edwards
USAPA Safety Committee (Chairman Don Underwood)
USAPA PBS/Pairing Subject Matter Expert Dennis Glauner
USAPA General Counsel Brian ODwyer
P4P Committee Members (Tentative)
Agenda: Reports from Domicile Representatives, Q&A, Domicile Resolutions
American Airlines Senior Flight Operations and Flight Operations Managers have been invited, and as of now, it seems that scheduling conflicts may not allow them to attend.

USAPA Merger Counsel Pat Szymanski has been invited, and as of now, we have no commitment.

Hope to see you there,

John, Dave and Eric
It seems the company will make time for USAPA meetings in CLT.

Opps, you're right... I goofed. I had him confused with those two quitters from the MC.
No, those two "quitters", Rocky Caliveri and Ken Strathers....well.....QUIT and left the Westicles UNREPRESENTED.

uh, who's fault is that?  It was a very POOR decision on Westicles part.

Ken would have my vote when the talks start after SCS and the APA is the bargaining agent.

The West will have a seat at the table.
That's not what you said "you heard."

I really don't care if the west gets it's own committee, but can see why USAPA might want to fight it, with Judge Silver's ruling. But if you do, will you get a vote or will AOL, the non-union dictate it like it tried to before?

USAPA is trying to prevent  the West from having a MC, that's the complication.

APA will wait for SCS and then grant the West a MC.
The West is attempting to gain standing without any basis, and the delay is marvelous. 😀

SLI is going to arbitration, APA is going to be our CBA, and the West will have a MC.

Your fear of a West MC is noted.

No problem with the west having a MC, as long as they physically remain on the island, preferably within the confines of Sky Harbor International Airport.  They can meet to their hearts' content...by themselves.

Your inability to state a legal basis stronger than "implicit assumption" speaks for itself.

Tic, tic. Tic, Toc

Borrowing a quote from Courtney, "I found this on the internet" 😉

USAPA vs. WEST

USAPA is more divisive than any other pilot group in our industry:

USAPA is operated by paid volunteers.

USAPA has officers and representatives, but federal judges (among others), believe they lack credibility and integrity.

USAPA has a communications chairman (who accepted employment at CAL during its strike), yet its members are uninformed.

USAPA has policies and a constitution, but is inconsistent in their enforcement.

USAPA holds formal meetings, but rarely allows its members to vote.

USAPA enjoys steady, mandatory dues, but produces nothing in return except costly lawsuits, of which it has won none.

The West is more unified than any other pilot group in our industry:

The West is an all-volunteer, unpaid group.

The West has no officers or elected representatives, yet it is recognized.

The West has no constitution, yet it is organized.

The West holds no formal meetings, yet it is unified.

The West has no communications chairman, yet it has a voice; its pilots informed.

The West requires no mandatory dues, yet it is well-funded.

USAPA creates mistrust, suspicion, and division, while the West has kept to its word. Which of these attributes would you want brought into your airline?

"You'se" left out: the west has (Hot Damn!) "Integrity Matters" T-shirts and even "Liberty" ties! Sigh!....It must indeed be a true paradise for all out in PHX. One could almost become shot-through by, and completely overwhelmed with envy....almost....Well, save for all the previously expressed eagerness displayed by so many "spartans" to bid tha' heck outta' there at their very first chance, of course.  😉

From the east perspective?: It's all pretty much left in the courts, which haven't proved grand benefactors for west fantasies, and none out east need much care for how long, nor dread the eventual outcome, at least not based on anything yet seen standing in any court.

From the west perspective?: Seven plus years of complete failure be damned! Our nic ship's still coming in any day now! Just as soon as the Night of the Long Knives finally happens, we'll tread every vile eastie under our righteous spartan sandals!......Seriously? Good luck with that fantasy. 😉

I hope so, but we're(the west) not sitting anywhere just yet. I have a feeling we'll see single certificate by the FAA long before we know what's coming out of the DC suit or the NMB. I have my suspicions about the NMB, I'll just leave it at that.
