Three lists, currently in use, handed over to a M-B sanctioned 3 arbitrator panel to decide the SLI. What is so freakin complicated about it that this has to drag on forever???

USAPA is trying to prevent  the West from having a MC, that's the complication.

APA will wait for SCS and then grant the West a MC.

From my perspective the SLI trumps the JCBA in importance. Any improvements accrued from a new JCBA will benefit all New American pilots. Whereas the SLI is more of a zero sum game. There may be some instances where C2004 or LOA93 has better provisions (can't think of any in LOA93) but these would be rare and difficult to preserve even with full participation by legacy USAirways pilots in JCBA negotiations. If the APA does a decent job negotiating an industry leading JCBA then all boats will rise. The MTA is not too shabby as a starting point.

OTOH, where and how we integrate with the native Americans, as well as access to bases and equipment (both present and future), seems like a far more important set of questions with far greater implications on careers.

I expect to see a decent JCBA. Don't know what to expect from the SLI.

Exactly..

Why would a member of any merger committee be at JCBA talks?
Ken would have my vote when the talks start after SCS and the APA is the bargaining agent.

The West will have a seat at the table.

Which is completely contrary to the ruling in Judge Silver's court. How do they expect to pull THAT off?

Just fuel for more L-I-T-I-G-A-T-I-O-N...

PHX Domicile Meeting Notice

Attention PHX Pilots of both USAPA and APA,

We will be conducting a PHX Domicile Meeting on Monday, July 21, at the Phoenix DoubleTree Airport, from 1000-1400.

We are still working on the Agenda, but here is the tentative list of speakers and Agenda items.

APA
NAC Chairman Dean Colello and NAC member Ken Holmes, with APA Negotiator David Brown (and Benefits Manager Sherry Taylor)
USAPA FAR 117 Specialist and Scheduling Chairman Les Edwards
USAPA Safety Committee (Chairman Don Underwood)
USAPA PBS/Pairing Subject Matter Expert Dennis Glauner
USAPA General Counsel Brian ODwyer
P4P Committee Members (Tentative)
Agenda: Reports from Domicile Representatives, Q&A, Domicile Resolutions
American Airlines Senior Flight Operations and Flight Operations Managers have been invited, and as of now, it seems that scheduling conflicts may not allow them to attend.

Hope to see you there,

John, Dave and Eric

"Judge Silver called USAPAs victory on McCakill-Bond Pyrrhic because USAPA, once again driven by its single-minded need to oppress West Pilots, has been the mastermind of its own march towards irrelevance. USAPA took the position that only the certified bargaining agent can determine who can participate in McCaskill-Bond in an effort to prevent West participation. Once again, USAPA did not think through its legal strategy because Judge Silvers acceptance of that argument means that once USAPA ceases to be a collective bargaining agent it cannot participate in McCakill-Bond or seniority integration. Judge Silver was unequivocal on this point: when USAPA is no longer the certified representative, it must immediately stop participating in the seniority integration. Doc. 298 at pg. 21:11-12. We will enforce the Courts ruling that USAPA cannot be involved in seniority integration at the earliest practicable date. "

Ken Holmes for the West Merger Committee is there from what I hear.
Yeah they need someone to get the coffee....

I don't understand why we need the BPR after SCS except for the fact they voted themselves into the process by requiring they sign off on everything the Merger Committee does. That can be changed. We need a funded, autonomous Merger Committee, period. The West lost their case for their own representation outside of the USAPA Merger Committee in Judge Silver's court. The two West members of that committee QUIT!Three lists, currently in use, handed over to a M-B sanctioned 3 arbitrator panel to decide the SLI. Breath their driver. What's the rush?

And what did Judge Silver say about the west participating in seniority integration? (Rhetorical)

According to Silver, APA will be arbitrating with itself.

He QUIT the only legitimate merger committee. He needs to be sent packing...
Ken Holmes is on the NAC and he is entitled to be there.
