I still don't get where you get 4300 eligible.

The list shows 3445 Mechanics
                          77   MOC Tech
                          26  Quality Assurance
                         148  Planners

Are you including the 510 Stock Clerks ?  The only group left, that I can think of, is the remaining 50 Utility.
It should include all utility (in luring those on layoff) even though they have NO expectation of returning...

The Life time recall only makes it dam near in posible to get cards at 50+1 as it pads the total count in the IAM's favor and it's piss poor contract's that got the people who are on layoffs were they are.
So it is used like a safety gap on card files to remove their sorry butt's to keep your DUES.

Yes, it does make it harder to collect the 50%+1, but I think the lifetime recall is a good thing. Sometimes after a large layoff it could take more than 5 or 10 years to be recalled, meanwhile, those affected might be working jobs with less compensation and would be more than happy to come back. The way the trend has been going though at US and AA, is concessions for jobs and that keeps people from coming back- they have it better at their 'new' job. The unions should be protecting the QUALITY of the jobs, not the QUANTITY- but that doesn't keep them taking in more dues.

I can see a 5 or 10 yr recall but I think in all fairness the number of cards needed to collect should come from the total number working and not include the ones on layoffs . The guys on layoffs should be able to vote this would allow members who care about the future of the jobs to stay informed instead of the union like the IAM forgetting about them and only using them as a safety gap to stop card drive's.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT PUT YOUR AMFA CARD IN NOW☆

I know what you're saying and I agree, I just think that the lifetime recall is nice to have. My point still remains that unions should be protecting QUALITY over QUANTITY.

I agree. I can only hope one day we can have a union that thinks that way.

blue-the unions go for quantity because that drives dues not the quality of the CBAs and representation they offer. After all business unionists like 700 can cover themselves up as trade unionists saying they want to protect the greatest number of jobs but at end of the day it's about dues. As Bob Owens has said there comes a point where labor gives away too much that it no longer makes sense giving concession after concessions to save jobs. That's what the IAM USAIR fleet and M&R agreements are about.

That explains all 700 excuses for BK and the Judge that he is using right now for the piss poor contract we have. Don't worry Josh the IAM days at US Airways are soon going to a end one way are another.

US Airways Mechanics

We are ten months into our drive here at AA with AMFA cards and we started our approach with you guys shortly there after.

The IAM got you a contract but is it what you wanted, Now that the contract is signed have you seen your reps around as much or has it gone
back to business as usual?

I have heard that the IAM Leadership has as well threatened your Pension, ask your self "is this the union that is going to LQQK out for me and my family as we go forward" ?????

We the mechanics at AA wish to remove the TWU, you should by now know what choices we all may get depending on how the NMB Rules.

Are you willing to become part of the TWU?
Are you thinking the TWU/IAM working together is the Best for our class and craft?
Will the IAMNPF accept payments if the IAM is done away with even though they can't show support of 50% +1 cards if needed?

I am not saying that it is fact but we should merge our class and craft by the McKaskil bond which will do so by the time each of us entered
our classification/occupation.

The only question I have not seen an answer too is what will happen to the TWA guys at stations in the AA system when they transfer outside those stations, will Kasher stay in effect, and be honored,  is the question?

The IAM/TWU made a deal as far as your feild trips so what's going to be their deal going forward?

Isn't it time to say Good BYE to both of these Industrial Unions?

It,s a waiting game. Someone has to make the first move. Then the cat will be out of the bag.
The AMFA drive would go a lot better if AMFA National would get involved!

How about a AMFA Organization Web Page to keep the info up to date and up front run by the National.
I agree with you.  Problem is the new AMFA National boys are too scared that they will lose their National positions if AA comes in.  Louie doesn't care it is all the others.  If the other leaders were still in place in the National, you guys would have had all kinds of support and web sites.   To me it's a selfish thing.  Hope you guys get the numbers from the US side.  I think if the NMB pushes this thing thru the card numbers will pick up dramatically.  Good Luck...
