"WE the PEOPLE...." of AFW, are now MORE ANIMATE AGAINST the Think Again proposal. Black VOTE NO on dayglo badge attachments are being worn in every business unit, except for supervision/ management & engineering offices. ASIDE, some of the 4A organization cannot believe how low AAMR has become with the submission of this TA.

I'd like to know what happened to Mr Reams proposal to reward the workers who have carried the company in these trying times?

BTW, When is the 777 OH/ Heavy C returning to AFW? Bay 4 did not slip a plane unless something drastic was found on outbound (sorta makes you think "Where was QA at while the plane was comming into the dock?"). ALL 757 work should be performed at it's RESPECTIVE Heavy C OH Base-----TULE!!!
In all fairness Mr Ream hasnt broken his word, a few days into this and he made an offer that was more than anything his predicessors had put out in over two years. He was probably shocked that it was accepted. Its not his fault that we never bothered to counter his offer, its not his fault that we didnt take this down the line to the companys last best offer, where the members make the final choice. It was not his fault that we said yes to a deal before entering into a 30 day countdown and marathon negotiations. It was the committee, which conducted a "Road Trip" last year telling members across the system how they would not bring back another concessionary deal, how they would not use Roll Call, how their strategy was to come in with a low ball offer they said was "Credible" and not budge from it. They are the ones who broke every promise they made. They came back with a concessionary deal, Steve Luis seconded the motion for a Roll Call, and they abandoned their "Credible" table position and accepted the companys offer without even making counter offers. The "Wage Opener" they thew in, which was voted on unseen, will be just as effective and enforcable as our 1995 "ME TOO" clause or our 2003 "Early Opener" .

This contract proposal is nothing more than a mop up of 2003. The concessions they forgot or never even thought of before are in this deal. We go two years with zero increases, we lose our prefunded bridge insurance, we remain at industry bottom for sick time accrual, IOD time, vacation time shift differentials etc, etc, As I said before some concessions are made to look like gains, the MRT window was shorted from 11hrs to 8 hrs, our 8.5 hour shifts will allow the company to cover all three shifts without paying the premium to anyone. The bases have seen a complete rewrite of Article 12 which will allow them to wipe out pretty much all the OT and move OSMs into positions currently held by and paid as A&Ps. This is the next step towards driving all the top paid guys out of OH and having the entire base staffed by OSMs who, licesned or not, will permanently remain OSMs.

AA will have their MRO at MRO wages and their Line Mechanics at bottom of the industry wages. This deal brings them one step closer to that. Read the "Wage Opener and tell me what our rate of pay will be when the IBT gets CAL/UAL $40/hr. You cant because it doesnt say. Our rate will go unchanged because the language is unclear.

Bob;

What 30 day countdown are you refering to? Do you know if the full text will be released before a vote?
Also, is it possible that all negotiations including counter offers took place outside of the negotiating committee, at the ATD level? It wouldnt be the first time.

Thanks.

The fact is that the best deal for workers is struck at the 11th hour. We didnt even start the clock. We were scheduled for Mediation until the 10th, we settled early and left money on the table, and by doing so made it harder for anyone else to do differently. That said stores went back and got skill pay, something they never had before. We should have mantained our table position until at least we were in a 30 day cooling off period, if it came to that. Thats what the Road Show said they would do, they didnt. Now four out of the five of them are in the International.

We are supposed to get a full text but I doubt its likely.

I think its very likely that negotiations were conducted outside the committee, by putting Luis, Gilboy and Zimmerman in International positions it would be legal for the International to include them in negotiations while excluding all the other representatives. They could be there as International Representatives and not as representatives of Local 513, 563 and 565. We were all limited to acting as representatives of our locals, as such we are not party to the contract.

Re: the voting on this thread - is there any way the options can be changed to yes, no, and HELL NO?

has the twu every brought back a better contract the 2nd time around

the best contract every was in the 90's when the company GAVE us the 5 year pay scale

Funny how the Pres. of 562 never gets an International position.

Maybe we'd get a better deal?!???!!

No but you can screw the voting, which apears to be happening in favor of the agreement.

How ever many times your delete your cookies, log in, vote, you can cast your vote a thousand times if you have the time and patience.

Whatever you do, don't acceptt the voting numbers on this site as any indication of preference.

Is Zimmerman getting a International position speculation or is it factual? I would sure like to have that information before he comes down here to peddle this dung.

We sold our souls on that one for the Flex over benefits, brought the pre-funding in and screwed the new guy on his pre-funding amount. Now they want to take it away from him completely. That was an expensive $5 raise and this one is no better.
