"But for those who are worn down by the lack of an agreement,"

THIS is what the company wants to think. Drag out the negotiating process long enough and then offer crumbs.

Vote NO!!

The company has a wrinkle in their plans with the United/CO merger coming down the road.

Stand firm for what we deserve. Labor "saved" this airline from BK, yet they continued to accept bonuses. Arpey got what, 4.7 MILLION? I get a couple of sick days back? Sorry, don't think so.

The stark reality is that this pig with lipstick is coming to a ballot with your name on it. You either vote yes and continue to allow the weakening of our craft or you vote NO and fight for what we deserve. If you're angry this even came out to the membership that is fine. Use the democratic process to hold those accountable for voting to bring this back but stay focused and vote NO.

i worked flight line for 10 years and let me say one thing, flight line does not work any harder than overhaul. oh and another thing this is exactly what aa hope would happen with this contract, putting line mechs against overhaul mechs.

Who said the line works harder then base? I'm just welcoming the base guys to the airline business. :D

Who said anything about a strike?

We are still NOT at the end of the RLA Process
We have NOT been released from negoaitions
Progress was made and more progress can still be made if this is rejected.

Learn the Railway Labor Act and stop fearing the worst.

If the union brings a TA to the membership, that means they got what they think they could get. The next step is self help or binding arbitration, that might not work for us. Learn the RLA and don't go by what you "THINK" should happen, you should be ready for what could happen. Look what happened to the Chicago Police, the arbitrator gave them less then what the city was offering. Have a little faith in out elected union leaders. Now shut your pie hole. B)

Elected Union Leaders? I got news for you...It's the APPOINTED union leaders calling the shots here.

Sent my email to Jim Little demanding that he vote NO for us on this contract. I figure that since he voted YES for us in 2003, why not step up and do the right thing and vote NO this time. I asked him how he could allow a vote with so much anti-union divide and conquer language in it.

How about a systemwide petition to Little demanding that he use his 2003 proven "super vote" and vote NO.
Little Jimmy is not charged with the ATD anymore - Conley will be the one to accept if it gets to that point.

Most get 401K, and Continental doesn't make over $40 an hour

Read the TA The 401K that AA is offering us is matched to a 2080 hour payear only, in other words if you work OT they dont match those dollars.

Continental has a regular plan and a 401K match, they dont make $40 yet, but their current table position is over $43.

"We can look at the NWA mechs as the Alamo defenders. They stood up and said they're not taking a pay cut and now they're not working at NWA anymore."

Are you comparing the Mexican Army to management and the defenders of the Alamo to AMTs?

If so you might remember that it took THE Mexican Army to take out about 300 defenders... but thereafter the Mexican Army got routed. NWA management is not around either.

So now the Alamo is here at AA? (Texas- funny coincidence.) Same outcome? History will decide. Me? I'm one of the 300 defenders. Are you?

Bottom line, the NWA mechs aren't "working" at NWA. If you really thought you had a bad deal at AA you would have found a much better job some place else or started your own company. Stop whining about how bad you have it and move on. We're talking about jobs not about taking land away from Mexico. Stop acting like a martyr.

Just Curios...

...What dog do you have in the hunt?

What is your current position at AA and what will you gain/lose from the T/A?

Did someone mention taking "land from mexico"?
That statement ranks right up there with "shut your pie-hole C.A.V.E. man"

COL doesn't have base maint. either, which is a big cost as far as labor costs. Are you saying we should have gone into bankruptcy and lose AFW and TUL?

What's really going to be comical is the uproar when the rank and file find out how much the company will be saving with ObamaCare in 2014, hence the doing away with the bridge insurance money for those under 50 - one year after we've settled another contract.

We sure do work cheap, don't we?

I predict that a lawsuit will be filed over this T/A by those covered by the American with Disabilites Act and/or have chronic diseases that the sick bank retirement medical plan leaves them discriminated against.

IIRC the perfect attendance awards were challenged under the same complaint.

Those with Chronic Health Issues and those with FMLA needs and those that have had Injuries on Duty are being discriminated against by the new retirement medical plan for those 49 and under.

Look for a legal challenge coming if this T/A is ratified.

While writing is not my forte, after seeing this TA being quiet is no longer an option.

This TA brought back to the membership could probably be the most damaging since the creation of "B" and "C" scale in the mid 80's. This TA could very well be the most destructive to the AMT profession period.

Almost every modification of our contract in this TA is company negotiated. TWU blessed
• Creation of the new OSM classification (my opinion the worst)
• Elimanation of retiree medical for people under 50. (no thats the worst)
I must have missed this on our contract proposals.
• Sick time to 100% pay - the company wants this to prevent from taking the 3-5 day occurances.
• Sick time to 8 days per year (still below industry average)
• Holiday pay to 2X(hard to find people to work any holiday for half pay)
• Base to 24/7 365

I hope the less senior AMT's realize that with the creation of the new OSM on the base docks and DFWH, without proper safeguards in place, you could see almost the bottom 1/3 to 1/2 of the
seniority list downgraded to OSM's. (enjoy that pay cut) We're talking several thousand positions including the "B" checks in the hangars. Educate and protect yourself because this union sure doesn't seem willing to do so. Anyone who is so short sighted to see a couple dollars signs in front of their face, vote yes and then watch the total destruction of their profession.

Place blame exactly where blame needs to be placed. The TWU International.

Don V, John C, Jim L, and local presidents Steve L and Bob Z just to start.
