Why I Voted Yes

hss,

I can tell that you are a twu worshipper. If this contract passes, when the guys complain, you will say; "You voted for it!" If it doesn't pass, and the abrogation takes place, you will say" It's worse now than it would have been!"

Of course, you and the twu have no notion of how it's going to be, because all the i's aren't dotted, and the t's aren't crossed on the proposed contract....

But with your seniority, you really don't care either way, do you?

I can already say it is worse now than it would have been, even Informer agrees with me on this one. I told you people in 2010 to vote for that TA because it was the best you were gonna get, but of course you listend to people who claimed there was more to get and that Bankruptcy was just a threat. Well look at us now. I guess for some folks total abrogation is what its gonna take to fix stupid...

Funny you mention this hss tool.

There are people with at least 25 years with the company but unlike you none of us, ( I've got 26 years), are voting yes because it benefits us personally. We are voting no because THAT benefits all of us. Voting yes harms not only everyone at AA but the rest of the industry.

The "less senior mechanics" are already looking for other jobs because they too are voting no and they understand what you don't and never will understand... you do not give up pay and benefits to save jobs because those sacrifices never work.

By the way thanks for acknowledging that "your profession is counting on you!". I do what I can by stating the truth and performing my responsibilities to the best of my abilities. I will do what I can to promote my profession and not harm it.

Vote NO!

Don't try and blow sunshine up my but Ken. If you believe that, then you are more gullable than I origionally thought....lmao

You say as well you have less senior mechanics looking for work. Well they too should vote yes and take the money and go while they job search.....

I can see High Speed has his I GOT MINE in full drive. To ask Ken to try and see if he can get guys to think of themselves so he can save his job. Wow what a Jacka** This is about living with this contract for six years having no scope. People thinking the company will put it writing iater have not been paying attention for a very long time. As soon as or current aircraft have gone with no quarantee in writing Tulsa will become a ghost town. Any money you think the company is going to give you they are going to take away with increased medical premiums. A yes vote puts 60 million dollars in our CEO's pocket. Voting no leaves us options a yes vote means a slow death not to just Tulsa but to all AMT's at AA.

I highlighted a portion of your post....please explain

Of course! Let me see if I understand you; If we had only voted in that contract, AA would not have declared bankrupcy. And if they had declared bankrupcy, they would not have treated us badly.

Is this what you are saying?

Nope not at all, but we would have been negotiating from a higher rate of pay and the Line would have had $2.55 line pay all this time...

High Speed Clueless what about those who did vote yes. Their contracts went out the window with bankruptcy. If we would have voted yes we would still be in the same position. No one is trying to pump sunsine anywhere. If you want to be believe that the TWU is in it for you, You have bigger problems than sunshine.

None of them lost any money through the bankruptcy process. AA asked the judge to maintain status quo and he allowed it, so we would have kept what the 2010 TA offered....

So how are you coming with the options thing if we vote NO? I really would like to hear your spiel :p

We still get to negotioate, we can try to force this merger on our terms. If you just want to roll over though that is yout choice. Do not make it sound as if we have no choice left but mass layoffs no scope and any pittance the company wants to throw at us.The TWU trying to keep as many dues as it can before throwing in the towel. If you voted yes that is your choice and I can respect that, but do make it sound if this is our only choice.

Well your right in one respect. We would still get to negotiate. But the rest of your spiel....Wow

What would be the timeline to establish a new contract?

You asked now lets hear it from you as to why not.

Under U.S.C. Section 1113 there is no requirement to establish a new status quo (your new contract) after abrogation. The only requirement is for the parties to meet but no timeline to create a new contract. So what I envision is after what I hope is not a no vote to create this unhappy event but if it does then the union will go to meet with the company as required by both parties through the Railway Labor Act and then I would expect the company to say (you have your imposed terms of employment, live with it, we will see you in 2018).....Just my spiel B)

Oh,yeah.....VOTE YES

You are assuming that the company will impose the worst. The company will say the same thing when we try to open in four years, YOU SIGNED NO LIVE WTH IT.
