Good question Chip. When WOULD be a good time to talk?

Here's another question.

When is enough ENOUGH?

How many more employees have to lose their jobs?

How much more pay must be cut?

How many more employees will lose their retirement?

How many more days off will be taken away?

How many more hours will you be required to work each and every day to make up for the THOUSANDS of jobs that have been eliminated or outsourced?

At what point is ENOUGH ENOUGH and do you tell Dave that is the case???

As much as you might want people to, they can not work for US Airways for free. It is not a charity. I love the company as much as any employee currently on the property but at some point you just have to say, "Sorry Dave, I just cant afford to give anymore."

When will that point be reached with you Chip?

$110 per hour and 15 days off per month?
$80 per hour and 13 days off per month?
$70 per hour and 11 days off per month?
$45 per hour and 8 days off per month?

... $0.00 per hour because your job has been outsourced to Chautauqua?

You gave Dave over a BILLION dollars in concessions. If he cant make the company work with the resources he has available then maybe its time to let the invisible hand of the economy determine the fate of US Airways.
furloughed, allow me to answer that question for you ... WHATEVER IT TAKES MAN WHATEVER IT TAKES>

You are far more likely to see pilot furloughs due to pref bid than seeing force majure over the Airbus work.

If US tried the latter, they would have yet another permanent injunction slapped on by the Court before you can say "airbus corrosion problems."

There is something like 5 million of savings that could be reached if CCY stop trying to monkey with strongarming the ACAA.

Don't look in the mirror--look at the money wasted daily by your leadership.

The concession stand play pretty is getting older than request for give backs. Any new ones? Hey full pay till the last day makes as much sense use that one too, God People Wake up ! This is your lively hood. Wheres the professional ism . Oh thats right the head of alpa and AFA wants dave gone right in the middle of world changes i forgot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup....this is exactly what I am talking about. People like you who dont have a freakin clue. Moan and groan every second you can about management and what is going on. Wake up people and look at the big picture. AFA/ALPA and all the other unions will NEVER be happy with who ever is in charge, that is just how it goes. DAVE IS NOT the problem here. US is finally taking care of the mess that occured with merging with PI and PS over 15 years ago, as well as trying to deal with the LLCs.

When are you all gonna realize Dave does not have a plan except to take more from the employees?

Talked to several managers anda director that was at the big pow wow at the CCY Marriot and Dave had no plan and presented no plan.

USFLIBOI,

"WHATEVER IT TAKES"?

You have NO breaking point? No point at which it is no longer financially realistic for you to go to work for US Airways?

No point at which you say, "I'm worth MORE than this"?

Maybe there is no new plan and Dave is just creating FUD by saying the unions will not even listen to him. Sounds a bit odd to me. ;)

From what I've been reading, no one is opposed to productivity improvements, however it shouldn't have to be at the expense of hundreds or even thousands of more jobs and certainly more paycuts.

usfliboy & tansatlanticflyguy:

Why don't you guys go stand outside CCY and hold out your wallets and have them vacuum it our a few more times? When is enough enough and they just take whatever they want anyway! I once said the same thing you did and even voted FOR the concessions the last time but at some point you just have to say NO! If Siegel agreed to resign I MIGHT listen.
All that being said.....I think the union has a responsibility to at least LISTEN to what they have to say. The unions must do what in the best interest of their members while keeping the company in business. But the concession stand is CLOSED.

Dave did:

Outsource the Airbus work stealing from the Mechanic and Related.
How many millions in legal fees is US paying?

Tried to close GSE and violate the IAM contract again, threatened with court, comapny backs down but will layoff more GSE mechanics and Utility.

Violate ALPAs contract by trying to fly the CRJ-705
ALPA over 200 Outstandnig contract violations.

Violate the AFA Contract!

Do I need to say more?

I do and when its there I will quit. But BUT BUT to hear most talk its way past that and they are still here. Man iM with you> Im tired and worn out actually since 1989. But im not willing to call a spade a heart . I just dont think to continue blaming every ceo we have (and its always their fault according to the unions) is the all out answer. The only fault i place on Dave is not taking the cuts far enought during BK when he had the chance. At least some of the bittereness would have subsided. They gave back the force manure cuts when they didnt have to and at this point prob shouldnt have. Remember Im drawing from the same company here. :) Whats left of it and im not gonna allow other companies to pick us a part .

Thats what I've been saying. Force his hand. Make him show "HIS PLAN" and vision for the airline. When he cant present it to the union leadership, once again they will have proof that Dave and Dave dont know what they're doing and Dave will have to come up with a new complaint other than "the unions wont talk to me or see my plan". If he does actually come up with something and the unions look at it (dont have to agree to it) he'd at least have to change his tune to something else.
Maybe someone in the unions would like to see if TPG is interested in picking up another airline in distress? If Bronner goes Chapter 7, how much is he gonna get? Maybe TPG could make another offer? At least we might have some sort of future instead of the path we're headed down now.

The question becomes, does the union leadership represent the majority of those it represents??

It seems there job should be to negotiate then allow the union to vote. To say "NO" to talks is irresponsible. If nothing changes in the scopes of the contracts, we will all be out of a job.

They wouldn't need to break the contract if the current contract allowed us to be profitable.
The unions should at least hear the plan and vote on it.

The union leadership has no interest in hearing the plan. Contact your labor leaders and tell them that you want them at the negotiation table A.S.A.P.

A message to Pitbull and others.................
