All the bitching at HSS will not change history as to how the teams competed in the 2010 MSC. Nothing you can say will change my opinion that the members of Local 514 were being massaged into accepting the MRO idea supported by a Director of the AMTA Society who also happened to be at the time a TWU Union officer at Local 565 and yes aapitbull the International was there too....
When I seen this my thought was, Ok. We're in mediated negotiations, so "What the hell did they do to the contract?"
Oh, and its my belief that the Director in charge of the competition was in total agreement with the MRO idea and was not about to step in and say "NO" to this visual message. See the bio from the AMTA Society captured below....
Ken MacTiernan, Director - Ken MacTiernan is a 22-year AMT Line Mechanic with AA in Dallas, TX. He was a U.S.A.F. B-52 Aircraft Mechanic and earned his A&P license during his four-year tour; being Honorably Discharged as an E-4. Hirined on with AA in 1986 in LGA, Ken was a Lead Mechanic for 2 years. He is the founder of the non-profit Aircraft Maintenance Technicians Association, WWW.AMTAUSA.COM. Ken is married with two daughters. MacTiernan single-handedly raised money for placement of several Charles Taylor Bust donations in key locations throughout the country - the most notable at the Smithsonian Museum. Ken is also the Chairman for AMTSociety Scholarship Awards and Chairman for AMTSociety's Maintenance Skills Competition.
hss,
I know I will regret asking you an intelligent question since you are the type of person who argues with a tree for having green leaves but here I go.
What is your major disconnect/issue?
The only one "being massaged" is you while you type your alias driven nonsensical dribble.
Please return to my point of your not being able to read AND comprehend. The MSC has five (5) categories: Military, Commercial Aviation, General Aviation, Schools and MRO/OEM. Now I will type real s...l...o...w for you to help you comprehend facts.
Military Category: This would be Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard AMTs.
Commercial Category: This would be airline AMTs that have Line Operations.
General Category: This would be non-airline AMTs that have Line Operations.
Schools Category: This would be people training to become AMTs.
MRO/OEM: This would be for AMTs that maintain aircraft in MAINTENANCE/REPAIR/OVERHAUL and ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS.
Now, in 2010 there was NO Local 514 Team from AA. American sponsored a LINE Team, a TECH SERVICES Team and an OVERHAUL Team. The skilled AMTs from tulsa who comprised the OVERHAUL Team competed in the... you guessed it... OVERHAUL CATEGORY.
What does my position as an E-Board Member for Local 565 at the time have to do with my position as a Director for the AMTSociety and Chairman for the MSC? As the Chairman for the MSC I decide who competes in which category as the criteria calls.
As for posting my bio. thanks. But the leaves on trees are still green. I'll look for you in the stands in Las Vegas cheering on all the AMT/AMEs competing. I'll look for a guy wearing a paper bag over his head.
