What the deal AMP

Team Tulsa was an AA sponsored team. But you knew this. AA has indicated that they are NOT sponsoring any team at the corporate level so you might want to use your contacts regarding a Team Tulsa. Team Tulsa did compete in the MRO/OEM Category last year. If you think the company got the idea for SMAs from the MSC you truly are an imbecile of unmeasureable proportions. (Please stay behind your alias.)

The MSC did not "pimp" anything. There are 5 different categories to be competed in. (Now I know that you, cio and other twu tools can NOT read AND comprehend. I know it can be confusing what with "words" getting in the way.) Try getting someone to explain to you the content of the MSC and the reason for the competition itself.

But if you wish to continue to post from behind the shadows and attempt to belittle something positive for our craft & class knock yourself out.

hss,

How's that reading and comprehending thing working out for you? Must be tough. Three days and not a reply from you. I guess the int. must be busy.

Go AMP!

I wasn't reading anything Ken, it was a visual observation.....

I don't believe AA truly wants to become an MRO or they would have done it already, but they would like to enjoy the cost savings equal to that of an MRO...My observance of the Maintenance Skills Competition video from 2010 gave me the opinion MSC was showing the company that MRO like mechanics and AA's workforce could coexist, hence coincidentally opening the window for the SMA idea.....I was like, "WTF is up with this?"

The one thing that you have not factored in was it the TWU & AA side by side shooting the video's, so if anyone is to blame for showing members in this light it is the TWU Don V and aleast 3 other paid TWU reps where the ones shooting video. interestingly enough the company pulled out of the MSC this year and the TWU followed right out the door.

aapitbull, most likely was the TWU leaving and AA following or pandering on this issue.

TWU Manipulation 101
The Company Union asked the Company to cease participation in MSC because Ken is an AMP Organizer. The TWU cannot stand on it's record of failed representation, so they must resort to attempts at manipulation.

What I find hilarious is that they believe that their participation in MSC is so important, that not being there will cause a retraction by Ken as an Organizer or change the course of the TWU membership discontent. ROFLMAO, some things never change!

One thing this does show us all though, and that is the TWU participation in these events and the AA C. Taylor Bust involvement was purely political in nature and neither supports the advancement of the craft and/or profession without conditions. What a sick organization, and what a weak company for following that lead. If the TWU was only half as good at representation as they are at manipulation and politcal pandering, there would be no card drives, and membership support would be higher.

And what's even worse is there are still many members like HSS that after facts are expsoed, they still bury the head in the sand and blame someone or something else on every issue. And they walk around daily with a false hope and false view of reality. The member like HSS has unconditional support for an organization that panders and manipulates. Reminds me of the failed logic one views when trying to understand cult and gang mentality.

FU-TWU perfect example of why I sign those cards when placed in front of me, and why you the TWU is failing. Once my blinders were taken off, I could see the truth clear and without hesitation. Sad thing is, I too was once one of those blinded followers and manipulators.

Think about this TWU.

Manipulators can always be manipulated, and Fear Mongers can always be scared into failed actions.

All the bitching at HSS will not change history as to how the teams competed in the 2010 MSC. Nothing you can say will change my opinion that the members of Local 514 were being massaged into accepting the MRO idea supported by a Director of the AMTA Society who also happened to be at the time a TWU Union officer at Local 565 and yes aapitbull the International was there too....

When I seen this my thought was, Ok. We're in mediated negotiations, so "What the hell did they do to the contract?"

Oh, and its my belief that the Director in charge of the competition was in total agreement with the MRO idea and was not about to step in and say "NO" to this visual message. See the bio from the AMTA Society captured below....

Ken MacTiernan, Director - Ken MacTiernan is a 22-year AMT Line Mechanic with AA in Dallas, TX. He was a U.S.A.F. B-52 Aircraft Mechanic and earned his A&P license during his four-year tour; being Honorably Discharged as an E-4. Hirined on with AA in 1986 in LGA, Ken was a Lead Mechanic for 2 years. He is the founder of the non-profit Aircraft Maintenance Technicians Association, WWW.AMTAUSA.COM. Ken is married with two daughters. MacTiernan single-handedly raised money for placement of several Charles Taylor Bust donations in key locations throughout the country - the most notable at the Smithsonian Museum. Ken is also the Chairman for AMTSociety Scholarship Awards and Chairman for AMTSociety's Maintenance Skills Competition.

hss,

I know I will regret asking you an intelligent question since you are the type of person who argues with a tree for having green leaves but here I go.

What is your major disconnect/issue?

The only one "being massaged" is you while you type your alias driven nonsensical dribble.

Please return to my point of your not being able to read AND comprehend. The MSC has five (5) categories: Military, Commercial Aviation, General Aviation, Schools and MRO/OEM. Now I will type real s...l...o...w for you to help you comprehend facts.

Military Category: This would be Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard AMTs.

Commercial Category: This would be airline AMTs that have Line Operations.

General Category: This would be non-airline AMTs that have Line Operations.

Schools Category: This would be people training to become AMTs.

MRO/OEM: This would be for AMTs that maintain aircraft in MAINTENANCE/REPAIR/OVERHAUL and ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS.

Now, in 2010 there was NO Local 514 Team from AA. American sponsored a LINE Team, a TECH SERVICES Team and an OVERHAUL Team. The skilled AMTs from tulsa who comprised the OVERHAUL Team competed in the... you guessed it... OVERHAUL CATEGORY.

What does my position as an E-Board Member for Local 565 at the time have to do with my position as a Director for the AMTSociety and Chairman for the MSC? As the Chairman for the MSC I decide who competes in which category as the criteria calls.

As for posting my bio. thanks. But the leaves on trees are still green. I'll look for you in the stands in Las Vegas cheering on all the AMT/AMEs competing. I'll look for a guy wearing a paper bag over his head.

I would never try to convince you of anything I know who you are and where you stand but unlike you I was at the MSC last year and know excatly what happened.

Ken, can you verify that local 565 is still in the competition as it says on the amt society website. If so, I'm going to ask my local why they didn't enter. Hey Bob, why not send a team?
2011 teams

Tex,

By the way, Jason Best who is Tech. Services' Chairman was informed about the MSC and he infomed one of the guys in Tech. Services that he would talk to Sam Cirri about the MSC. Teams may enter the MSC right up to the day before the competition starts. I offer that to any company/orgaization interested in competing. We'll see what 514 does. ;)

If you or anyone wishes to attend the MSC send me a private message with your name and I will have a Guest Pass waiting for you at the Registration Desk.

Well I seen what happened last year at the MSC and was not surprised by seeing the SMA classification in the TA, I rather expected it...

Maybe you can answer this. What is AMP's intentions, what category's will they represent?

Oh, I know who you are too....Howdy pardner ;)
