I think AMFA is being pushed out the door and the fact that ALTA wants to stay with the AFL-CIO leaves some discussionA decision needs to be made real soon. Money is coming in and I'm concerned that the concensus is any union but the Association. With so called choice of three possible unions, AMFA, AMP and ALTA this is worse than the last drive of AMFA and Teamsters. Someone should make a decision soon. I'm ready to donate but I need to know that we are perusing one union to replace the association. Having a choice to have your real name posted for many is important. I'm sure union shop stewards and other officers would gladly donate without disclosure.
Good try Swampy, you don't try a Union. I wouldn't want any union that is AFL/ CIO , or affiliated with Seham law firm. If they want to start with the AMP, they have more than enough membership, and experience to control AMP, and control their own destiny. They have seen how long AMFA has taken at SWA, to produce a T/A , with mediation from 2015. The management team is alot tougher than SWA. You keep pushing AMFA on these guys, you will just cause them to split their vote, and they will be stuck with Association. We get it, you Love AMFA!!! I know they don't want the Teamsters, but at least they left the AFL/ CIO.I'm with you guys on this issue with ALTA. I would not want to be in a union AFL-CIO related.
You guys need to take the ALTA off the list. I also agree that it should be ONE union to bring in. AMP would have to be started from the ground up. AMFA is already up and running and the mechanics would still run it. Something to think about as we did when we went AMFA. Maybe try AMFA first, get the ole feet wet and see what it takes to run your own union, and then maybe if still not quite satisfied go with your own in house union, AMP?
But I do agree that it would be a lot smoother with only ONE choice to vote for. Just a thought to think about guys. In any event, good luck with this drive. Can someone post the go fund me site as a perm watch on here???
Listen here you little *****. Re-read my post. I simply said that I agreed with 1AA that the option of ALTA was off the list because they are associated with and would want them in AFL-CIO. Get a clue, they are tired of the affiliation of the AFL-CIO and industrial unions. Your post speaks volumes. Go back and re-read, you look like an idiot...Good try Swampy, you don't try a Union. You made your point that you dislike AMFA and Lee Seham. We see you have a personal feud with SWA AMT, we got it.Good try Swampy, you don't try a Union. You should settle your differences with 737 driver in another way. We all know you two have differences of opinion with union representation. Thanks...Listen here you little *****. Re-read my post. Perhaps the AMTs should conduct a vote as to which organization to put our efforts into. It may be beneficial to create a steering committee to explore options. The issue is going to be getting addresses to conduct a mail in vote so the only other way would be to use word of mouth and postings at airport locations where Mechanic an d Related are located.
Another reason to stay away from the AFL-CIO. Some issues they financially support with our dues money may not be in your peronal interest. I was disappointed when the supreme Court ruling was made. I don't support this political candidate or his party. Why should money from all members support him? It's all political between unions and politicians. We as members are funding this. There are issues that can be justified by using our dues. This guy is not one of them.Good information. I did not know that and I agree. I will not support anything affiliated with the afl-cio.
Sorry I will keep if civil , carry on guys. You made your point that you dislike AMFA and Lee Seham. We see you have a personal feud with SWA AMT, we got it.
You guys should PM each other to settle your differences. Hint, hint...

Try to keep the Association from messing it up. You guys I believe can get it on the same page, and be successful, good luck.Perhaps the AMTs should conduct a vote as to which organization to put our efforts into.
