I think these guys opened there eyes and did what they could to keep CO out of bankruptcy.. The IBT was able to negotiate acceptable consessions without their 401(k) plan, sick leave and vacation time being gutted. Then they got $50 million added to there pension fund..

Ohh and they got no furlough clauses added.

"Joseph Tiberi, spokesman for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, which represents Continental's flight attendants, said a majority of the airline's 9,000 flight attendants who voted had rejected the 45-month concession deal."

The IAM isn't worried about BK it's become very skilled at saying "yes" to the company and a BK judge when they are forced into concessions. This is a false front put up by the IAM. They advise them to vote no concessions knowing that concessions will be force on them if they don't try to help the situations. There wasn't even a counter offer? This way the IAM can say "we did our best" and save at least some of the dues after the bankruptcy. Practice makes perfect, doesn't it 7.

Thanks for posting these numbers..

According to these numbers, Roughly 3,200 mechanics[51%]
of the total combined mechanics [6,315], will have to get
off their their collective butts and VOTE, if they want
union representation..[Whether it be IAM or IBT]. I do
not see why the IAM does not think mechanics will come
out and vote on something important like this.

Also, if you subtract the WEST mechanics [833]which I
would speculate are all IBT votes, from the EAST,[5,482],
This will leave [4,649] mechanic and related to determine
which union will stay..I'm not sure how the 68 stock
clerks on the WEST side would vote. [Of course you have
to take into consideration the lazy and brain dead that
will not take the time to vote].

Just remember there is a very good chance the east side cleaners will be out of the vote due to no chance of being rehired also a good chance the east side stores clerks could be out of this class the nmb took them out of the maint class at awa when we voted.
