Furthermore, with the new East/West Pilot's Coalition gaining strength it is becoming more likely that a NMB Representation Election to select a new Collective Bargaining Agent could be held in 2010, which could make USAPA's strike threat moot.

Regards,

USA320Pilot

The Self Appointed, Self Proclaimed "new" Coalition is just he same old usual suspects inserting themselves into some kind of union leadership role...an unwelcome, self important role.

This Group has ZERO support on the West...the only thing gaining strength on the West is USAPA migs. The East wanted USAPA, that's what they're going to live with. ALPA is doomed on the West and the teamsters are hardly worthy of a major airline. USAPA is the only CBA that we'll be dealing with for a long time coming.

Sounds a lot like USAPA. Check out all the "ususal suspects" receiving FPL on the LM-2 schedules.

The names are quite familiar from the ALPA days.

I believe all the Wein Air guys are retired. Still have quite a few Australia folks on property.
But consider this. As has been pointed out many times, the West is more familiar with those pilots who have questionable work ethics.

Then maybe you can explain why you elected an Australia folk with questionable work ethic as your second MEC Chairman. His name's on the list.

N... not everyone working in local ALPA was scum... there were a number of good, honorable people in ALPA who were true pilot advocates.. Sadly they were the exception, not the rule, however, for their service in USAPA... I, for one, am very grateful.

All the others who were on the ALPA FPL gravy train for their own selfish, egotistical benefit... screwing the pilots at every turn, without a second thought... should be forever banned from any active role in the union...

I hope the membership never forgets who those players were and makes certain of that!

Phoenix,

I will tell you what I am looking forward to!

Flight Time Duty Time changes

Flight time duty time can you say recalls and new hires!

That's what I thought until I read this...

Today's WSJ:

"The proposal envisions a sliding scale of between seven and 11 scheduled flight hours for pilots per day, compared with the current maximum of eight hours, these people said. Rules on total hours spent on duty, which aren't regulated as strictly as flight time, also would be adjusted.

If the FAA moves to implement such far-reaching changes -- which could come at the earliest by the end of next year -- it would substantially alter the workdays of many pilots. It would also likely increase personnel costs for many regional carriers, which fly shorter routes. Many commuter pilots -- who work grueling schedules that include multiple takeoffs and landings a day -- likely would have less time behind the controls than they do now.

But major carriers could save, for example, because they could schedule the same cockpit crew for a morning trip from the West Coast to the East Coast and then a return flight the same day, according to people familiar with the proposal. Rules now require a new crew on the second flight."

It was my understanding Jet Blue had already sought an exemption to do just this, but was denied by the FAA.

I am looking forward as well. In fact, I would be happy to get just three out of the eight on your list. But I also expect that before the company is forced to pony up what amounts to 300 to 400 mil in the aggregate, we will be reading of a new corporate transaction involving us in the WSJ.

Yeah, sure. There were a number of ALPA reps that actually supported the line pilot, and believed in membership ratification. Why throw out the baby with the bath water? We don't have to name names of those who poisoned any chance of their own election, ever again. They're done. Let them rest in peace. ;)

Did Parker give himself a big raise to 15 million a year? He his now the highset paid airline CEO I think, as we are the lowest paid pilot group. ALL pilots are being advised to start saving their money, paying down debt and maybe taking out a line of credit. The situation will not be good here early next year.!!!

Is there something about the damages portion of the Addington suit you aren't telling us?
