Us Airways Merger Update District 142

How many mergers have you been involved with at the ibt or even HP?

The IAM has been involved with three mergers alone at US Airways and many more throughout the industry over the years. The IAM and the legal deptartment know exactly what they are doing and are following the NMB's rules and regualtions.

Seems to me the ibt is scared and know their days are numbered.

And since your ibt mr marshall does not work under the CBA nor ever has I even doubt is has ever represented anyone under in the grievance procedure or enforced it, I would suggest somone who works under it and actually enforces it.

No one at HP can step up to the plate?

Ahhhh.........changing the direction of the conversation doesn't work Mr. 70. You keep bragging about the fact that you have been through several mergers and bankruptcies. I am not so sure I would be proud of being part of the cause for USA going into bankruptcy twice. Yes, the IAM helped drive USA to the destination.
:)

hey AWA,

How come you are not answering all the questions?

I believe you are not because you know I am right.

No defense from the ibt who's days are numbered.

LOL.......because most of your questions are not worth answering mr. 70 ..........ROFL :)

I have noticed that every company that US Airways mergered with has become just as sad as they are. AWA will change your attitudes or you will be gone. Dont drag our airline down with all your bull. Remember if it wasn't for us you would be collecting unemployment. I know how you east coast people think. I was raised there. The IBT will prevail and you losers at the IAM can go support your Canadian members. The real IAM members are the techs that turn the a/c not your cronies in the local office. If you think Doug will not out source heavy mx you are mistaken. So join the IBT and get a pay raise and better benefits. Remeber the IAM negotiated to out source your back shops.

After having a chance to meet some of your membership this past week let me tell you that once they get over being intimidated by the IAM leadership you guys are toast - this battle is no where near over. Teamsters are giving your membership open and honest conversation and showing them our positions in black and white along with the supporting case law.

I for one do not fear you or the IAM - I have stood up to the IAM before and will do it again, and again. You are not right in your battle you are just articulate. I do not fear you and will continue to tell the truth.

The AFL-CIO has never forgiven Northwest mechanics for breaking with the AFL-CIO-affiliated International Association of Machinists (IAM) and hopes to expand its dues base by helping destroy AMFA and thereby obtaining the union franchise covering aircraft maintenance jobs at the airline. Neither the AFL-CIO nor the IAM bureaucracies could care less about the fate of the AMFA workers. Indeed, the same can be said about their own members. The defeat of the AMFA strike will, as the union officials well know, open the floodgates for ruthless job cuts and the gutting of wages, working conditions, health benefits and pensions.

U-East hasn't seen the end of the outsourcing and reduced benefits. This is a sad day indeed.

hey dumb a**
check your facts again Northwest was "IAM"
I was not talking about mechanics, did you see me say mechanics? NOPE.

The Flight Attendants at NWA were ibt, the ibt got voted out for the PFAA.

And I see how intelligent you are by insulting and name calling.

Better go check your facts.

Lets see:
.

Your track record is proven, and if the IBT is so great why did they get voted out at WN and NWA?

You do realise that before the WN mechanics voted out the IBT they voted out the IAM in favor of the IBT, don't you?

In case you haven't noticed. Mr. 70 doesn't let the fact get in the way. He makes it up as he goes along or if it fits his agenda. :)

Under the RLA, you cannot be required to be a member of a union or pay it any monies as a condition of employment unless the collective bargaining agreement between your employer and your union contains a provision requiring all employees to either join the union or pay union fees.
go read your company supplied contract as it contains this verbage....

the vast majority of very close to retirement IAM mechanics cannot and willnot change unions this late in their respective careers.they have nothing to gain by aligning with IBT at this stage of the game.you going to get them a better retirement after 2009 when their contract is open for neg's??
hell over half will be gone by then.
if we still had the masses of junior mechanics on the payroll...i'd say you'd have a better than even chance.you guys over look and blame IAM for industrywide realities....seems i recollect AWA almost disappearing from the radar much like U.....it ain't over either.....
so keep your hopes up on representation but you aren't going to stay Steamsters...yall keep smoking that stuff.
