I am sure Pat Friend is asking them to resign before they take away thier membership and appoint interim officers. They knew this was coming so it's not like AFA was blind sided and I am sure they had a plan of action ready. My rep told me it was true, they were found guilty.

What I am seeing is that AFA int'l and namely Pat Friend don't want to deal with this issue since they look at US AFA as an absolute MESS. So yes they were found guilty but AFA int'l will do NOTHING to them. Absolutely NOTHING! ! ! ! Talk about setting a great example...... "Hey folks you can now feel free to break laws and not get punished". Nice, REAL nice. 
To wonder why the company looks at AFA and the flight attendant group as a joke. The AFA is a dare I even say it, "BIGGER JOKE" than the company. :blink: WOW

Can you believe that AFA 66 was not censure from the office they hold? They were given a verbal warning. However they will continue holding their office and keeping the masses out of Phoenix. I hope you are all happy with the situation because as usual nobody knows nor do they care. What the officers of AFA 66 did is blatant theft and she is showing her cards by taking information from USAPA that was not to be reproduced and placing it under her husbands pillow a West pilot. You have resources to contest the situation. Call pat friend at 202-434-1300 and call your local office and all the minions that run AFA. I'm in total shock. I have been read the findings letter and when I say scathing and damming that's just the tip of the iceberg. They got dressed down bad by this board but the board utterly failed in their duty. They found them guilty with no remorse and then just did nothing. Turned the cheek. A very sad day for AFA. The recall is underway in PHX so the hearing board decided to let the membership do the dirty deed of justice. I know for a fact people have done much less and been removed from office by that same board. Every single one of you should be outraged and pick up the phone or email. This affects your paychecks and future.
Wow, way to get all pissy over half information! Cactus, your incomplete announcement of the verdict is oh so carefully worded to justify this ridiculous recall, spearheaded by a more senior reserve than you let on. The above is my opinion. All I ask is that people wait for actual information, not hearsay, before getting all worked up.

I have read the letter! Are you saying there were not found guilty? Half information...hell if only half of it were true they should be shown the door. Seems AFA 66 took after Imelda. I only hope she got some shoes out of it.

You were an officer of this union for many years and you know, or certainly you should know that the AFA Constitution provides an entire section on the process for internal disputes and the International President has absolutely no role in that process.

One wonders how any of this changes the current situation. So we get a new MEC... yahoo... that's gonna change what exactly?
Is it going to make the company bend and offer different options besides furloughs? No.
Is it going to make the East and West suddenly see eye to eye on flying with or without pilots? No.
Is it going to give us a COL increase? No. Pay Parity? No. Put up a fence? No.
Is it going to suddenly make our membership actually take RESPONSIBILITY for their future and become an active part of the Union and the process? Ummm, Hell no.
So what exactly is a new MEC going to do besides give our lousy excuse for a membership someone else to find fault in and hold over the coals when the process doesn't go as fast as expected. Bitching all the while while never offering to help or do anything. 2500 members (soon to be 2200) and 30 active in the process. 30.

SSDA- Don't you worry about who I am. I am an East F/A that is sick of this 3 ring circus. The findings will be made public anyway to us on the East. Our MEC put out an eline before and said they will post the findings when rendered. I am sure any day my email will pop up so we can all read the gory details. I just happen to have been told the content of letter in advance.
Why not post on an open forum? Why have some decorum now!? Our union acts like a bunch of idiots they are treated as such.
