1. what percentage of the eligible membership voted to approve funds for this firm?
2. To whom will the campaign be directed towards, and What do you hope to achieve with this public relations effort?
3. who initiated the idea of retaining a “PRâ€￾ firm and what was the reasoning for doing so ?
4. “officers have gone to a convention this weekâ€￾. What convention? Where? For what purpose?
5. “contact Rick for any questions next weekâ€￾. “Rickâ€￾ who? And what is his capacity/authority within the TWU?

I talked to a guy that was at the meeting that approved the hiring of the PR firm. He said that less than 60 members voted on the motion...

A better understanding of the needs of the members, how to communicate better with the members and improve public perception.

Rick initiated the inquire about the PR firm with the help of the International which was reveiwed by the local executive board.

Isnt it pathetic when a Local has to hire a PR firm to get "A better understanding of the needs of the members",and " how to communicate better with the members"?

How can you represent people, or claim to represent them, when you dont even understand their needs or know how to communicate with them?

It is nothing less than disgraceful for a local to require an intermediary in order to find out what their members want and need. This is simply an admission of failure on the part of Local 514. It shows how removed they are from their own members. Perhaps its time to spend a little time on the floor?


The actions of Local 514 are simply another example of how dysfuntional our union has become. A hapless group of dim witted quislings who fall over each other in the hopes that they will please their masters in the International. Their sought after reward being an appointment in the International that could lead to higher positions within the organization or in management with the company. Anything, anything at all that will continue to expand the distance and remoteness between themselves and the people the purport to "represent". "The ungrateful, limited attention spanned masses on the floor who should be grateful that they have a job and can pay them huge sums of money for their incompetance".

One thing for sure is that this PR company has their work cut out for themselves. Its kind of like a PR company hiring a PR company. Obviously Local 514 has lost their way when they have to hire an outsider to find out what their members want and how to communicate with their members. Why didnt they just call Local 562?

Amfaman your very astute. The rick mentioned is indeed rick mullings (aka cio), his position with 514 is an aspiring e board member with sights on an international position. He's mostly known here in Tulsa as the guy whose always got his head buried in his laptop.

Did you notice how he dodged the question on what percentage of the membership voted on the pr firm. If 60 people voted then that would make less than 1% of 514 that voted.

He also said he initiated the inquire about the pr firm with the help of the international. Great way to put a feather in your cap rick.

Amfa is in their 42nd year of organizing at AA, Sometimes it takes longer for some individuals to open their eyes to realize you are on the losing side, Any body with common sense would realize this at some point?

The lawsuit was passed by a vote of better than 30% of the eligible members, unanimous for all that voted. Sure beat the less than one tenth of one percent that okayed your hiring a PR firm to find out what your members want.

My members did not remove me, they obviously approved of how I handled their money since I was reelected with around 70% of the vote. The International removed me because I would not disregard what my members wanted and would not lie to them like the International wanted me to.

Well it may take 42 years at AA, but it took 39 years at NWA, 41 years at UAL, so it just goes to prove that determination pays off.

If you want to talk about how long it takes to realize that you are on the losing side and common sense just look back at the graph in the ad the we put in the Tulsa paper- again with a unanimous vote of the members that was much more than your recent motion. The graph, which even Jim Little said was accurate, if anything he said we lost more, shows how we have been losing with the TWU for over twenty years.

How low will we go before you feel we need a change?

AMFA and the AGW are going to finish the job that the AA flight attendants started over twenty years ago and the Dispatchers are currently continuing. American Airlines ground workers will finally all get a real union.

Latest Informer update.

Our inside conctacts have stated that Randy McDonlad Local 514 President is being investigated by the SEC for "insider trading" violations. Seems our own sellout leader profited greatly from recent AMR stock transactions.

Thanks to our inside TWU informer, the members are being kept abreast of the secret internal workings of the Kremlin on Pine.

How many 562 members call Local 514 asking if they can join your local?

We had around 60 calls from Local 514 thanking us for the ad we put in your paper and asking how they could join our local.

It seems that Local 562 has as much of a following in Tulsa as Local 514, but I can assure that other than Bobby Gless and Levere Deane (two International officers that pay dues to Local 562) that 514 has no following here.

Old Line TWU Members at my Station signed AMFA cards after the TWU went after Owens and Schalk.

Other guys signed when the TWU reached the Letter of Agreement with AA for the Stand in Stead that primarily was designed to benefit the LLC guys in STL.

More guys signed cards when they recieved the cost estimates for their FlexBenefits.

All of these guys were primarily Old Line TWU Bullet Heads. Each of their cards was a personal triumph for the Local AMFA Organizer.

You just keep doing what you do best.

I see a pattern here, as I always said They don't want Amfa their harrassed into signing a card from the amfa wantabes, Everyone gets upset at one time or another, If the amfa children were honest they wuld ride on their merits?
