Dialed in to the call for those that didnt you didnt miss anything. They (the twu) are confident AA doesnt like alot of things. Conspiring with other One World unions, any sort of informational picketing, bashing of the PUP payouts and some other shenanigans that are getting us no closer to a contract or the company bargaining in good faith. Thirty mins of how much they are doing and 25 minutes of answering questions people called in. They didnt get to mine or threw it in the trash. Two plus years of negotiating and here we are right where we were when we started. Sign a card get rid of these bums and there 6 digit salaries. Enough is enough.

They are just going through the motions trying to save their family run business, I emailed and faxed several questions, and not to my surprise, none were picked. One of my questions was, " why didn't we start this campaign three years ago?" What a waste of hard earned dues money!

My question was
"Why do the ATD internation members make three to four times what the members they represent make?"
needless to say they didnt get to my question either...

Sorry some didn't like it. I thought it went pretty well and hope they continue with the Town Halls. Gary Drummond's comments about how we were forming allainces, preparing to take on the company and how the members will have to participate in the struggle to get "what we deserve" ,were much more inspiring than anything we heard from his predecessor Conley (i.e. "With the current price of fuel we may have to reconsider our table position" or "We need to put this in our rear view mirror and do what's best for AA). While I'll always disagree with how directors are chosen ( I feel that directors should be elected by the divisions they oversee, a Resolution that was shot down at the last Convention) and I think the fact that Conley was promoted away from a position where he can do any damage only shows how dysfunctional we remain, that Gary has been more supportive of what we want to do and it doesnt feel like I'm talking to AA management when I talk to him.

I support the concept and hope they continue with them.

I agree with the point that Time for a Change's question brings up. A guy sitting back making a buck fifty K or more in Texas has nothing in common with a guy in the trenches on the high cost coasts pulling down less than half that. The fact that they are unaccountable to us and the company treats them better than they treat their own managers will be continued cause for concern but right now I feel we need to focus on the fight with the company, after all management are the ones that are withholding the $190 million or so a year we earned after helping them bring in over $60,000 million since our contract became amendable.

Bob,

"but right now I feel we need to focus on the fight with the company,"

The fight is with the company AND those in the international who are unaccountable and act like the company. We need to focus our attention on removing the twu so people like yourself and John Ruiz and other like minded UNION people can fight from a position of strength.

I too submitted questions which were not answered. Town Hall Meeting? How about having FACE TO FACE meetings around the system so those who are unaccountable can answer questions DIRECTLY to those who ask them. The int. would never do that on the Line.

GO AMP!

how the members will have to participate in the struggle to get "what we deserve"
Really Bob, members have been participating in the "struggle" since 2003. It's the "appointed" (and some elected)
officials who have not and will not participate in the struggle. Why should they, a six figure income is a pretty good chunck of change
to keep someone from rocking the boat.

Submission is not struggle. As a whole thats what we've done since 2003. No doubt about it, we were sold out, but some of what was said on the phone call has never been said before by the International such as "work by the book". To me thats a welcome departure from "Lets put this in our rear view mirror and do whats best for AA". Lets see what happens next week when the M&R committee meets again with the company, and how the floor reacts to it. It may be time to turn off the TVs and put the laptops away. Will you be the one willing to unplug?

The first step in getting the companies attention would be putting away our technological baby sitters of Television and laptops! If we as a whole are unwilling to accomplish a simple task like that, then we will show how selfish we are and no unity will be a clear sign of weakness and that is what is driving everyone to walk over us! No one is afraid of the TWU and their members because we do not demonstrate unity in any shape of form. We can only blame ourselves for it and the only ones who can change it. it is time to put up or shut up! We have no time for excuses anymore.

your either part of the solution or part of the problem

Tell us more about this unity we should have while the line AMT's are bashing the OH AMT's and blaming them for the results of failed union policy and weak union leadership. Blame all you want. But when others are talking of F'ing me over then standing by their side in battle is not only unlikely but impossible!

I refuse to stand united with a group that will shaft me in a NY Minute, And looks out for themselves at the expense of others. All that has really happened in the Line AMT is now just like the Pilot, willing screw everyone for their own benefit.

Bob please don't tell me about what those idiots in the international said because they also said this on a conference call!

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

Attached are the minutes from our ALL Division Special Conference Call of March 4, 2011 to discuss and update you on the current issues involving Unions and the middle class attacks. Since our call we have key people at the rallies in Ohio. I am still in need of a list of activists from you Locals including any retirees that maybe available. As I discussed on the call we at the Executive Board of the AFL-CIO are planning a “ DAY Of ACTION." I am also drafting a letter to President Trumka, AFL-CIO and affiliates that represent the private sectors that we meet and consider a “General Strike” in the future to bring attention to what is happening to middle class America in the hands of corporate greed and political attacks.

Read the minutes.

It is obvious that we cannot rely on politicians to fix the problems. It is our time to ban together, and move forward together. As I stated on the call we seem to always want to prepare for that rainy day. Well Brothers and Sisters - -that rainy day is here now! I will set up another call once I have been able to get more information on our time lines. I will also try and give you as much advance notice of the call, but as we move forward the timeframe maybe on short notice.

Remember, send any information or suggestions to president@twu.org. Keep in mind - there are no bad suggestions.

In Solidarity,

James C. Little

What day is the general strike?

TWU Informer:
It appears you are oppossed to anything that does not come from you! Tulsa has always dictated whether a contract will pass or fail not the line. Your great at passing judgement on others but you do not hear yourself. Sometimes it is better to listen more and talk less.

Last I checked a union is a majority rule organization. If the majority is from Tulsa then of course Tulsa will dictate passage or failure. It is only those of you that don't approve of the majority rule outocme that seem to want a minority rule system that suits your needs.

I am all for getting rid of TWU, but I have no interest to a conversion of a "union" that would bend the structure to circumvent majority rule. Thus, No Organzing from me this round.

And so now you want me to shut up because I don't agree with you, which further inidicates you have a problem free speech in addition to majority rule. Has Bob converted you into an anti-Capitalist also? Would have been more appropiate to call me a C.A.V.E. Man and tell me to shut my pie hole. Sound familiar?

What is most profound is the evolution within you regarding who is to blame.

You used to blame Bus Drives in the TWU. I was with you on that one.
You used to blame Fleet Service Clerks. I was with you on that one.
You used to balme Appointed TWU Leaders. I was with you on that one.
You probably still blame Republicans. Not their fault either.
But once you started to blame Tulsa and Overhaul and majority rule unionism, well there was no other outcome than to be enemies as far as I am concerned. Sorry about that. Go feed your greed on someone elses back.
