Hey NYer when did we the union ever decide we wanted this association. For or against when did we the union decide this. When the members have a voice there is nothing to fear, if the members wants this then that's the way it is but if the members don't that's the way it is also. A few can't dictate this change and expect people that are supposed to have a voice in it to stand by quietly. Why is it that you supporters constantly act surprised that your dictatorial ways always cause strife. The only way there will be peace is a legitimate vote

The Leadership decided on the Association in 2013. There isn't a change to your day to day representation. The Association is strictly for collective barganing and issues that affect the entire membership on a national level.

Yea exactly.  The leadership decided NOT the membership.  This the problem the NMB has with it also...

The NMB has NO problem with it. This is nothing new and as matter of fact, there are other unions with similar agreement currently representing at US Airways.

The reality is that we can gain more and sacrifice less with the Association. The few that against it are those that rather have another 10 years to try and get AMFA in here. As a matter if fact. if AMFA was a possiblity, they would be gathering cards in order to make a submission once the NMB declares a Single Transportation for the Association submission. They'll get a 30 day window....are they working on it?

There's the problem!

Spell out the alternaitve from beginning to end. What is the advantage of having a full vote as opposed to the current path.

Question not sure if it's been asked or talked about. Let's say the association was approved in November, Do we have to "live" without current contract until 2018, or will the association start new contract negotiations right away?

One group, one union!   Let the members decide!

We would remain under our separate contracts but yes the Association would start negotiations right away. If some out there get there way though that time frame to capture gains (raises) will take longer and longer to achieve. That idea doesn't seem to disturb certain people though because it's NOT about us, it's about them!!!

What is the advantage of having the combination of the absolute worst two unions for AMTs on the planet represent us?  Unlike algebra; in this case, two negatives do not make a positive.  AMFA is the best way to go for AA AMTs.

The negotiations begin to bring one contract that covers the TWU and IAM Members, they will not way until 2018. As a matter of fact, if the APFA and APA negotiations are any indication there seems to be a push to get deals done before the the FAA issues a Single Operators Certificate to create one airline.

Again......Spell out the alternative from beginning to end. What is the advatange of having a full vote as opposed to the current path.

Then the Association is immaterial to those that prefer AMFA. After the Association is approved by the NMB there will be a 30 day window to allow anyone else to show interest....there is AMFA's window. It's been 10 years, there should be enough cards by now...Right?

And no union should control a pension with a clause that you will not receive any more monies into the fund if you are not a member of their union.  It is just a way for the union to never get booted from a carrier.  Bob how many times has the IAM cut the funds going out and/or reduced the amounts to keep it in the green?  I have heard of twice but not sure...
The funds were cut because of the 2006 Pension law change that forced it to make those cuts because the market had tanked for everyone from 01 to 05. Maybe it would have made its way back to being fully funded as the market improved, maybe not? The law is what made that chance something that was not going to allowed.
