Tulsa AMT movement.

1.9 BILLION DOLLAR PROFIT AND WE ARE STILL UNDER A BANKRUPTCY CONTRACT. AND THE TWU AND IAM CANNOT PULL THEIR HEAD OUT OF THEIR A** TO NEGOTIATE A DECENT CONTRACT. WAKE UP ALREADY TULSA.

I wonder how the TWU is going to sell the IAM the "WE NEED TO SAVE TULSA JOBS" method of negotiating.

And this surprises you? 1.9 BILLION or 10.9 BILLION, makes no difference as long as the twu is in bed with the company.

Where were you guys 25 years ago when we were trying to replace the TWU? If we would have had half of the Line then the TWU would be a thing of the past.

Go ahead and blame all of the mechanics here in TUL, could it be that the city of Tulsa might have some say so as to keeping this place open.

The city letting AA have the facility for practically nothing and the TWU cutting wages directly since 1983 has nothing to do with why it is open.

I am pleased that every line mechanic since 1983 voted against every contract and has been trying to remove the TWU.

I would like to reopen a question: What is the latest on the placement of the new AirBus maintenance?

I'm not sure. Tulsa AA management sent most of us through the new Airbus training. As far as the older and newer 737s. Drop ins are being done in hangars 3B & 3C. Heavys and lites (I believe) hangar 1. AA was hoping some of the 2025 taxes would be used to modify the remaining hangars for 737s and Aibuses. But Dewey Bartlett shot that down to use that money to improve the Arkansas river project.

yes, the Hangar 1 & 2 group is changing a little, Hangar 1D moving to some heavy checks in August, other than that Lights and Heavy's Dropins  and special visits.

But can anyone comment on the AirBus  work?

Its not taking seniority from anyone.  The mechanic that has 30 years as a basic never worked a day as a lead would be senior to a guy who has 25 years as a lead and say 29 as a mechanic, explain how that is fair when the guy with 29 years has been working as a lead for 25 years while the 30 year mechanic just bid a lead job and has zero lead time?
Doesn’t a lead with 1-year lead-time that goes back to regular Mechanic and then after 30 years as a regular mechanic bids lead mechanic they will get to keep all their seniority as a lead. All one has to do is bid lead for a short period of time and lead time stays with them isn’t the way US CBA is, and if a 30 year lead mechanic goes back to a regular mechanic they carry all their seniority with them as regular mechanic

john john,
The TWU uses Title Group seniority, AMT and AMT CC occupational is the same date no matter what position they are in within the Title Group.

I hope we go to the TWU seniority for leads. The IAM way is all screwed up and does not respect a mechanics seniority.
ANYONE can be a lead. It is far more difficult to fix aircraft than to assign someone to fix them.
In philly most leads are junior some just off probation. So again experience does not play a part in becoming a lead at US Airways.
The IAM PREMIUM jobs are given to those who management wants in the position. Leads, inspection, MOC etc....
You go through a interview and then Management PICKS who they want. That's how it works under the IAM.

[/quote] I know we are doing Airbus phase checks on the line and at DWH. I will visit with our Airbus rep tomorrow and see what he knows as far as heavy checks and schedule. Personally, I do not see TULE doing the heavy checks, but that is just my opinion.

CLT base manager is lobby to bring all the baby bus work from BFM to CLT.

CLT does wide body and narrow heavy

Yeah, I figure there will be a tug o war for the airbus work. As far as BFM, it is my understanding they were only to do the first 6 A319s. I have not seen an Airbus work in BFM for probably 8 weeks or more. I look at the ASOM every morning.
