It won't be the TWU's fault, I'll bet.

Lease return work isn't considered outsourced of the work is done after it is given back and no longer an AA aircraft. If the plane comes back however it is considered outsourced work and is considered part of the percentage.

Were A&P jobs not decimated at NW? DL? UA? AS? when they were just outright outsourced instead of kept inhouse? Would it have been better if the TWU had just said we want only A&P jobs in TUL and then allowed work that SRPs do outsourced?

Just how many jobs will be lost at AA in the next 5 yrs? Due to new A/C?

No matter what happened at other carriers the TWU has scammed the membership long enough.

By the creation of the SRP and other lower classification jobs the TWU kept people in Tulsa working. (TRUE) But at what cost, the future of those guys families was destroyed. The loss of wages and benefits will cost our class and craft dearly in the future.

As AA finds ways to shift work from Tulsa who are YOU going to blame then?

I'm not spinning anything. It is what it is. The "white spaces" discussion was had years ago so I would say it was out there already. The third party discussion was had to fill those white spaces but now it is obvious 3P is not happening to fill the white spaces so now we will have reductions in capacity and people.

Honestly I think we would have been better off.  Bringing in the SRPs just gave AA the opportunity to force A&P mechanics into those positions.  Also the SRPs (now OSMs) were the TWU's idea but at the time they told everyone no licensed AMT would be forced into those positions.  Some of us knew better and tried to warn the membership but if you will remember the 5 and 5 for the A scalers that was added to the deal swung the vote so it passed.  The TWU always seems to add a cookie for a certain group to buy yes votes.  These things like 5 and 5 and early outs should not be included in the contract or be a condition of the contract passing.  These sell outs are what has created the animosity.  In both cases had these things not been added the vote would have failed.  I have been paying dues to be represented by the TWU for 29 years and they have represented AA instead of me.  I want someone to represent my interests.  That is all.  I am tired of taking pay and benefit cuts to "Save jobs" and then the jobs go anyway.  The TWU doesn't represent me so I want to give someone else a chance.  If you are so confident that the TWU is the best thing out there than you shouldn't be worried about allowing the membership to vote.

Ok blame the loss of work on new aircraft.  What representative of the ground workers at AA would you blame all our concessions on. Are we going to get anything snapped back because of new aircraft or are we stuck with all the job saving concessions but no jobs?

Well said old guy.

If it's only a handful of whiners on a forum, then the TWU has nothing to fear. The guys from AFW MCI, the mechs working as OSMs will totally vote TWU along with the line mechs. No reason to fear a vote.

Not to mention how well the IAM did with their TA. This alliance is going to be a power house.

The CBA has gain sharing language in it. That is where you would see "snap back" money. I have no idea if the locals have met with the company on that.

The IAM negotiatied what should be labled a transition agreement. The JCBA would be where you go after higher wages. All the things you don't like that you voted in the new local officers to correct will be done in a new JCBA. Look at UA/CO...the IBT is doing that now. Many of you have noted the turned down $40 plus in hopes of getting more. The new 514/567/591 crew should get us more if they can walk the talk.

let me guess?
"they can do that brother"
"we'll get em next time"
"they are in bankruptcy" (we're scared)
"its because of AMFA"
"its because of the teamsters"

The locals are supposed to set up the plan. I don't think they've done that.

Wrong the IAM didnt negotiate a Transition Agreement, it is a Section 6 Tentative Agreement with a three year duration.

Dont let the facts get in your way, a topped out mechanics on DOS will receive a nice increase.
