And what will AMFA do?

You do realize AMFA represented carriers have the highest outsourcing if aircraft maintenance especially overhaul?

You do know AMFA couldnt stop Alaska from shutting down the OAK maintenance base, laid off all the mechanics there and farmed out all heavy maintenance?

You do know that WN has around 700 planes and only has four lines of heavy maintenance and outsources more maintenance than any other carrier?

You do know what happened at NW?

I believe that has ALWAYS been WN's way of operating.

So that means the whole time AMFA has been representing WN's A&Ps they only succeeded in bringing in one line, and that was in exchange for letting WN farmout out work to Aeroman in El Salvador.

And you do realize AMFA has never negotiated a new CBA at WN, just extensions to the old IBT CBA?

The IAM has lost more members than any union in the industry.

Lets name all the carriers.

Alaska

Eastern

TWA

Continental

United

Northwest

For whatever reason each of these carrier had the IAM at one point or another.

Whether the company was failing or not the IAM failed. Using your logic, because if it's AMFA's fault at United and at North West Airlines.

What is the excuse for the beating the IAM has taken at US Airways.

What Positive CBA has the IAM negotiated for the airlines mechanics in the last 20yrs.?

Your IAM just negotiated a CBA for the members at US and they still don't get the License premium we do here at AA.

If and when a JCBA is negotiated here at AA, in 2017 the IAM will loose even more.

The IAM has failed at all these carriers and has the USAirways guys making less then us, per A&P ticket.

With all the known failures of the TWU that we as AA employees know of, why would you the Tulsa Mechanics not sign an AMFA card?

Prefunding money/stock hold back/Pension/Holidays/2X rates/sick time/profit sharing/Holiday Pay/vacation. you can maybe add more to this list.

Do you really believe that the TWU & IAM are going to work together to make our families futures better?

You can look back through history and see the failures of the IAM
for your self. Most of us here at AA think the TWU has failed us so

HAVE YOU HAD Enough YET?

You do realize that UA filed chapter 11 and voided that stock?

And you do realize the AMFA was the bargaining unit when UA stock was terminated?

Pardon me for interrupting, but don't you even think of trying to connect AMFA to the UAL ESOP.

Note the date?  AMFA wasn't certified on UAL til mid month July 2003.

...United said Thursday that it is terminating the ESOP and distributing its assets to employees' accounts. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers which represents United's mechanics and ramp workers, as well as the Air Line Pilots Association, which represents the pilots, are in favor of that action, the airline said....

This is a TRUE FACT. AMFA didn't have any thing to do with the UAL ESOP being VOTED IN. ALPA and IAM were the ones in favor of it, But the pilots were the ones pushing it the most.
700 just wants to twist things because it shows another BAD move by the IAM.

I never said anything about AMFA and voting in the ESOP, I said AMFA was the bargaing agent when they canceled the stock.

And as I said (The IAM supported a BAD MOVE). AMFA stepped into the IAM MISTAKE after the AMT's at UAL VOTED THE IAM OUT for doing such a good job for them.

TRAVIS, correct me if I am wrong but wasn't it you that was supporting the TWU during the IBT "raid"?
Travis is a PMUS mechanic, he was supporting the IBT.

I will support any change that that is good for my  A&P brothers and as I have stated before AMFA was not my first choice and I feel the IAM/TWU carving us up to keep UNION DUES is BS. The IAM had better look at what has happened at the other AIRLINES THEY HAD MEMBERS with and WHY they were VOTED OUT.

If AMFA gets in and drops the ball I'll vote their BUTT's out too because the Union works for me NOT the other way around......
That's how a truly democratic union works. Just like our pilots and flight attendants union. Democracy and accountability in a union. What a concept.

And that's how it should be. Once the members realize the power they have, the rest is easy.
