Boy if I was at any of the LUS heavy stations like PHX CLT PIT I'd be wondering how this OSM crap is gonna be worked against Them or pushed on them. If I was them I'd be signing a card. Does anyone know if they have unlicensed people there working on A/C?

Steve what happens here is TWU 514 just works with management to uphold the unions theory of keeping the most employed vs. better compensation. I guess it is not just the Local, it is an AFL-CIO theory. more people unionized. But here locally these a lot of these mechanics live in fear of losing there job, because that is what happens at contract time here, the last time 4000 were going out the door and when it was over it was about 40. Today I am not sure how many unlicensed mechanics are on the docks, but the OSM ( SRP ) has just been redivided where some were sent to the back shops with no license pay and others were kept on the dock but " re" upgraded with their license pay being restored and there work scope being reinstated.

Buck are you Ostangs buddy in in TUL?

KRMG local radio and American Airlines said the 7,000 jobs will remain in Tulsa.
Remain? There's only about 2800 title 1 there now, BTW, 1,000 less than just 3 years ago. Where's the other 4200?

How convenient that this is their first time ever visit to the main base. Coincidence maybe? A fast and furious card drive to try to oust or stop this association from being steamrolled over us. Yes Tulsa will be here for a long time. We never doubted that claim but the question was always how many jobs will remain and how many skilled workers are forced to downgrade to save jobs? Tulsa (TWU) always found innovative ways to save jobs. Junior Mechanic, SRP, OSM. All TWU firsts. I guess local 514 and the International is saying this can all be accomplished if the association moves forward. We can not guarantee this will happen if you change representation or go no union. A few more scare tactics and threats by the company toy union. People this is about having a choice to vote on this association and to protect our PENSIONS from the IAM scam pension fund. I support the continued work at the main base and the preservation of jobs. This is all promising from the company and we should support the effort but don't let the TWU make you think for one second that it is only possible with the TWU in control. This is business and AA is in business to make money. Expansion of jobs and work is what we need. IN HOUSE is the only way we can help maintain this profession in the USA. I see in jetnet under careers that many AMT positions are opening up. The work is here and we need more AMT's to get into the field. Lets hope for the best that in the near future the benefits and pay will improve and attract talented individuals back in.

THIS IS SCARE TACTICS!!! The IAM Pension fund is 105% Funded, this is Public Fact!!! I Don't care if your anti TWU but Don't Lie about the Pension!!

All we asked for was a legal ruling of whether the company can hand over the trust & to another
retirement fund. After months of asking the question, we never received a credible answer!
Its the TWU's fault by not informing its members properly on such a serious issue

And don't forget everyone in Tulsa has or is going to Airbus gen fam. They will be coming here in some fashion.
While I don't disagree that the company still needs Tulsa, wouldn't they need the Airbus Gen Fam if they went to the line?

Yeah it's called OSM or AMTO.  That is what they have planned I'll bet.  Higher percentage of them in Tulsa.
Well its one way to approach the problem they are having on the line, hire A&Ps out of school or have upgrades from other departments go to Tulsa to get their experience.

YES, Airbus are coming to Tulsa.
AMTs, AMTOs and related have had and are currently in Gen fam for these future fleets.
Painters took Gen Fam last year for the new fleet.
They are probably gearing up to work on USAir airbus fleet when they realign the bases. I see PIT shutting down. Seen this before with KC and AFW. Maybe other USAir bases may downsize or close up shop to keep Tulsa running. It happened before good chance it will happen again. No one ever figured AFW would ever close it's doors.

CLT, PIT and PHX are protected in the PMUS CBA, any changes have to be negotiated and voted on.

But I do agree the company will go after PIT.

you folks in tulsa are awful optimistic. personally after the beating we have taken my optimism is gone. i think you will find when usair management infiltrates like the did in dfw things will be a little different.

In the town hall meetings Kirby, Seymour, and Isom all made it clear that DL+7 also encompasses their work scope. That being said, DL is a monster on the engines side but almost nothing on the heavy airframe side. Overall on a percentage basis the outsource more than US and AA. I expect that some of the ideas posted here such as expansion on OSM/AMTO could grow as well as greater amounts of airframe on the heavy side. I'm hearing talk that AA plans to move all the legacy AA airbus' to the legacy US program which means a lot fewer base visits since they do phase Cs on the line. Who knows if this will grow to the other legacy US fleets. And the 787 that flew in to TUL base for the meeting, if the articles I have read on that plane's program pan out, TUL base has no chance of seeing that plane in one of their hangars until 2027 for a schedule check.

700W,
Most of the US AMTs I have spoken to said they thought it was only a matter of time, even without the merger, that US was going to close PIT and move those jobs to CLT and PHL. I know contractually that is not possible but they felt Parker was going to try to consolidate to one or both of the hubs. PIT seems a lot like TUL in that it really isn't in the normal airline route structure. I see the 332 and 333 are all based in PHL and CLT already.
