Teamsters "raiding" TWU?

Today the teamsters were at the CRC employee entrance. Actually on AA property aggressively handing out info. I heard the TWU was contacted and the person was told someone from the union would go talk to them. Well even though the 514 hall was 2 doors down nobody showed as promised.

Anything that will reduce the card count and help the TWU stay in Power. There is NO Fight in the TWU we all have seen this time and time again. They got the AFL-CIO involved when the last AMFA drive got close to bringing it to a vote. The said AMFA was a raider sent out flyers and some what defended itself. But what have they done NOW since Both AMFA and IBT are looking to replace the TWU? NOTHING !!!!

They believe that it will just fail and that the TWU will remain in with the card count being split. They now have decided to decertify local saying that they cant run due to financial reasons. They are merging locals and title groups to give Tulsa the power.

AA is going the way of all the other airlines and closing O/H bases and contracting out work. This is the last ditch effort by the TWU to keep our dues coming in.

Time to sign a card so that we can file the petition with the NMB and remove the TWU.

The TWU has let AA take enough from the employees...

To someone standing on the outside, you make very little sense. Actually, none at all. I won't go so far as to call you stupid, but TWU STILL, even after the bankruptcy agreement will have more mechanics per aircraft than any other airline in the nation. The ONLY TWO amfa represented airlines have the lowest mechanic per aircraft values of any of the most popular airlines. Either you did no research at all, or you ar simply full of shhhiiiiiaaaaatttt.

But, whatever. Your final argument is that "This is the last ditch effort by the TWU to keep our dues coming in.". what the hell do you think amfa wants? You have a small mind, so let me tell you. amfa only wants your dues!!! That is it! They have no idea how to help you in bankruptcy. In fact, they will only make it worse.

At UAL we voted amfa in expecting that during our bankruptcy filing the membership sponsored association would protect us from outsourcing and lost benefits. We expected them to uphold the 20% outsourcing limit of our contract, but they failed. Of course, under amfa,we also all lost our retirement benefits without a fight. Even after UAL switched to Teamsters, amfa reps were allowed and financed by the IBT to continue the argument for the 20% rule in arbitration. They were humiliated by the company, and lost again. Their only excuse was the same as now; we are in bankruptcy, we can not help. Excuses is what you can expect from amfa. Either stick with the TWU, or change direction with the IBT. We were in your shoes just a few short years ago, and now, thanks to the Teamsters negotiated, many of our line mechanics are at $100K earnings for the year.

Pie in the sky is all amfa is. Do you want REAL results? Do you want promises and pipe dreams from the amfa committee? OR DO YOU WANT TO EARN WHAT YOU DESERVE!!!

Your choice

God you guys are so f'kd. I am so glad I never went to work for AA. Even losing my 17 yrs at NWA I am still fairing better than you guys are. What the hell is it going to take to wake you guys up? Even us at NW we had MSP like you guys have TULE who would always throw the vote but after the Iam reamed us in 2000 in a great economy the guys in MSP finally woke up and said F'k this and kicked the Iam to the street. Ok AMFA made mistakes and NW management pulled out all the stops to break us but we did raise the bar that still exists with the better carriers. The industrial unions made sure the bar got pulled back down at most carriers. I am actually glad to be non-union at FX I am not lumped in with other classifications I don't pay union dues I make over 100k straight time and have good bennies. If I have to be an AMT I am so glad I am non-union. Funny thing is unions are supposed to make gains in pay and bennies..Not you clowns at the Iam, Twu and Ibt. Ibt at UPS not withstanding they are the only exception. AMFA even with its faults is the only option I would take if I had to be union again even after all I went through.

YOU RAISED NO BARS, YOU SACRIFICED ALL OF THE REST OF US. Come on, be honest. Lets not pretend that NWA amfa represented mechanics were martyrs who died for the cause. You were in it for yourselves and you never once looked at how it would impact the rest of us. The association through the mechanics at NWA provided a textbook example of how to beat ALL unionized mechanics.

Through your greed and selfishness you hurt ALL union mechanics, and now you are happy to be NON union. I bet you would be just as happy to scab, or cross a picket line in order to save a dollar?

Thanks for the explanation and live happily in your independence. When you speak poorly against one union in favor of none, you speak against all of us. I for one am happy to be rid of you.

They are still camped out at the Hilton Garden Inn next to AFW and have been for a couple of months. It must suck living out of a suitcase and eating out all the time, while being away from your family. I see a few Reamster T-shirts in Taesl, and the reason being, they were FREE ! Not to mention they had FREE food ! I have herd that they are starting to make house calls, and using a list of addresses that the twu atd has provided. Most of the Reamster supporters have signed AMFA cards and understand that they are the same Industrial catch all union as the twu.

Oh, and another thing, the IBT meeting they had here a few weeks ago,,,,,,they had a truck driver doing most of the presentation on why mechanics at AA need to go with the teamsters!!!! Go figure

Why MUST you always be such a LIAR?

I KNOW FOR A FACT, that the IBT meeting a few weeks ago was presided by my business agent, a mechanic with over 40 years experience, plus two other mechanics with combined seniority of over 50 years. All three were from UA and CO. I understand there was a Teamster former truck driver who was in the room, but he was the one sponsoring the meeting. He PAID for the thing. The meeting was presented by AIRCRAFT MECHANICS.

WHY MUST YOU LIE??????

Gee sorry I offended thee. Look man as much as I appear to be an AMFA cheerleader the fact is I only promote them because there is no other viable union for AMT's out there. The NMB rules regarding class and craft have only made it worse for us add to that the other unions out there watered us down even more with ramp and agents. We never in my almost 30 year career have had a decent say in our negotiations. AMFA was a dream we had and all we wanted was a union that addressed our wants and needs. But too many forces out there made sure that didn't happen. Becoming an AMT was a very poor choice in my life..If I had the knowledge 20 years ago that I have now I would have become a dispatcher. Dispatchers at UPS and now SWA are topping out at 147K they are both represented by the Twu (imagine that) but the Twu cannot get the AMT's anything but concessionary contracts year after year. Dispatchers do not have to take any other classifications into their union and they are pulling down over 70 dollars and hr at these two companies and even at the other majors they make considerably more than any AMT. Tell me what are the AMT's are pulling down again? Even at top paying UPS it is 51 an hr and no other airline AMT is even close to that..Dispatchers get all this for a certificate that takes 5 to 6 weeks to obtain add to that they have CASS jumpseat priviledges and can hitch a ride on any CASS approved airline (which is most) in the cockpit. The only time a mechanic gets in the cockpit is if he is on a road trip and thats only company business and only his own carrier. Again this is an example of a classification that is stand alone. Strength in numbers which is the Iam, Ibt, and Twu mantra hasn't done squat for me or any other AMT.

Shoulda coulda woulda....my heart bleeds for you little man.

This is "exactly" what the teamsters did at SWA trying to keep us from going AMFA. What a great idea, yea, lets put a trucker on the floor of Aircraft Mechanics to promote the teamsters. The "truckers" that came to SWA was preaching "why in the world would you guys walk away from the teamster pension you all get for being teamsters?" Quote. The dumb-a$$es didn't even know that only the truckers get that. They also thought threats and fear would keep us all there. teamsters are a bunch of crooks, money laundering, steeling, lieing, anything to get you to sign a card and vote them in, then "POOF" they are gone never to be seen again.

We told all of you that this was coming thru-out all the postings. When you guys start seeing the truckers coming in from ibt to get more cards you know the AMFA campaign is working well. I too already know that this is a calaberal effort from both the TWU and the ibt in order to prevent AMFA from winning an ellection at AA. It will be the beginning of the end for the TWU as well as the ibt representing any aircraft mechanics. All the other airlines will follow suit after they see how happy the AA'ers will be once they get AMFA in and working.

Yet another X-NWA/AMFA mech telling the world he would still vote for AMFA if he had to make a choice on a union vote. It has also been posted before on here but deserves another repeat; "All the X-NWA mechs at both AA as well as at UAL have "all" signed AMFA cards instead of teamsters, TWU or IAM." This speaks volumes about AMFA's representation at NWA. Not all the BS the teamster and TWU cheerleaders are still trying to float by everyone. These guys all know AMFA did in fact make a mistake, AMFA admitted this mistake, and learned from it. They did not point fingers at others and their members or any other union or the company for their faults, like the teamsters and TWU do, have done, and still do to this day... They always blame anyone and everyone else instead of owning up to it themselves like AMFA does and did at NWA.

Anomaly

Your correct its my choice, along with others here at AA.

Your at UAL so why are you sticking your 2 cents into AA's biz?

What do you get out of being on this forum spouting off about how the Teamsters are so great and AMFA sux? ARE YOU BEING PAID BY THE Teamsters? One can only assume that since its seems to be such a big deal to you that you attack AMFA and promote the IBT.
Have you have been at UAL along time??? Then you should know all about the TWU. Since you had the IAM/AMFA and now the IBT so tell us just what do you know about working under a TWU contract. 000000000000 ZERO thats right 0000000

If AMFA is so bad then you should be happy, because when we have them and they fail you can say that YOU told us. Then we will just have to do what you guys at UAL did vote them out.

"YES" I know the number of amt's at the two carriers they represent are small. BUT both are very happy and get paid well. You talk about how they just want dues well that is with any union isn't it. I just hope that the Teamsters are fair with the CAL guys since both are dues paying IBT members. It seems to be taking a long time to merge the seniority list. As far as being stupid to use your words you at must of been as well, since you guys voted in AMFA at UAL. You also believed that ESOP and all the other programs would saved you but they didn't and now what you going to retire with NO PENSION. You have merged with CAL lets just see how that works for you. How come I don't see you running off at the mouth about how the Teamsters are doing with the intergration of the CAL AMTs. Don't you have enough problems at UAL that you need to fix? Shouldn't you be there spewing all your knowledge.

AMFA at AA, since Anomaly admits he works at UAL why should anyone here at AA even discuss things with him he's an IBT member at UAL.

Damn and I thought you were gone for good. One just couldn't be that lucky I guess

I see anomaly is back and up to his same ol-BS. Little does he know that the AMFA/AA crew have "in writing" the proof that AMFA in fact did much better than the ibt in BK negos. I am tired of repeating myself, just pull up the UAL contract, look at the dates, then read to see all the protections that AMFA did get them. I see he still lies, ect... He was gone for awhile after myself and others exposed each and every lie and faulse actuations. Now he comes back thinking everyone has just forgot about his reputation here on the board. To this day no one takes his postings as truth. He has been proven wrong too many times, and now thinks that time away will fix his image... Glad he came back, the teamsters need his help, so by all means keep posting anomaly, keep posting.
