Anything that will reduce the card count and help the TWU stay in Power. There is NO Fight in the TWU we all have seen this time and time again. They got the AFL-CIO involved when the last AMFA drive got close to bringing it to a vote. The said AMFA was a raider sent out flyers and some what defended itself. But what have they done NOW since Both AMFA and IBT are looking to replace the TWU? NOTHING !!!!
They believe that it will just fail and that the TWU will remain in with the card count being split. They now have decided to decertify local saying that they cant run due to financial reasons. They are merging locals and title groups to give Tulsa the power.
AA is going the way of all the other airlines and closing O/H bases and contracting out work. This is the last ditch effort by the TWU to keep our dues coming in.
To someone standing on the outside, you make very little sense. Actually, none at all. I won't go so far as to call you stupid, but TWU
STILL, even after the bankruptcy agreement will have more mechanics per aircraft than any other airline in the nation. The
ONLY TWO amfa represented airlines have the lowest mechanic per aircraft values of any of the most popular airlines. Either you did no research at all, or you are simply full of shhhiiiiiaaaaatttt.
But, whatever. Your final argument is that "
This is the last ditch effort by the TWU to keep our dues coming in.". what the hell do you think amfa wants? You have a small mind, so let me tell you.
amfa only wants your dues!!! That is it! They have no idea how to help you in bankruptcy. In fact, they will only make it worse.
At UAL we voted amfa in expecting that during our bankruptcy filing the membership sponsored association would protect us from outsourcing and lost benefits. We expected them to uphold the 20% outsourcing limit of our contract,
but they failed. Of course, under amfa,we also
lost our retirement benefits without a fight. Even after UAL switched to Teamsters, amfa reps were allowed and financed by the IBT to continue the argument for the 20% rule in arbitration. They were humiliated by the company, and lost again. Their only excuse was the same as now; we are in bankruptcy, we can not help.
Excuses is what you can expect from amfa. Either stick with the TWU, or change direction with the IBT. We were in your shoes just a few short years ago, and now, thanks to the Teamsters negotiated contract, many of our line mechanics are at $100K earnings for the year.
Pie in the sky is all amfa is. Do you want promises and pipe dreams from the amfa committee?
OR DO YOU WANT TO EARN WHAT YOU DESERVE!!!
For real results, you want the Teamsters.
Just a few years ago we at UAL looked up to you in both pay and benefits. We are Teamsters now, and invite you to STEP UP and join us.
