I turned down one position on the 25th. It was hard to do but I just couldn't put down my wings. Truth be told, I kinda regret it. However, at the time, it just didn't feel right and I didn't have enough time to think it through. I'm still not sure about the other one. I have more time to think about it luckily. I'll probably stay for another year though, unless I get fed up one day and just quit. HaHa! Yes, I would have a back up before I would quit. Hey! I'm not a ditzy flight attendant (contrary to other people's opinions on here)!
Would that not be hilarious if I sold students supplies? OMG! "OK class, in case you didn't come prepared I have an exciting offer for you! You can purchase a pencil for only $2. That's right class! $2! Correct change only please! I don't have time to look for change! I have a whole class to teach and others may need supplies as well! I'm sorry Johnny, no I don't accept credit cards. Or, if you prefer to write with a pen, I have pens for sale for $3, and again correct change is always appreciated. Yes Susan I see the pen has an advertisement for Motel 6! If you don't like it don't look at it. They cut me a really good deal so I can offer pens in my class. No other teacher does this. In addition, we are also offering a special on notebook paper. You can purchase a whole pack of paper for just $7! Isn't that a great deal? Remember, you must give back anything you purchase in class before class is over. It is school policy. LOOK JOHNNIE I KNOW YOU PAID $10 FOR SUPPLIES BUT THE FEDERAL LAW REQUIRES THAT I COLLECT ALL PENS, PENCILS, AND PAPER SINCE THEY ARE NOT SAFE! THEY COULD BE USED AS PROJECTILES AFTER THE BELL RINGS AND IT'S NOT WORTH LOSING MY JOB OVER!"
Then I could walk through class with cheap a$$ trash bags every few minutes to collect "refuse" from kids so they don't leave their trash all over the floor and who knows, I could train some of my students to collect trash. They'll be future US Airways flight attendants in the making, that is if we're still around!
😉
Or maybe I could buy juice and water and let the students serve it to the class and collect money for it as a way to learn how to count! Then I could pocket the profit! Hehe! Hey, free labor! Not a bad idea, huh? I could even sell sodas, but they would go for a premium price because I know my students would pay big bucks for a soda! If that goes well I could also include snacks and toys and other a la carte items. Hey, what about charging them to go to the bathroom? That'll really teach them to hold it!
All of the parents, administrators, teachers and even some students will have a big problem with this but it's OK. I just need to train them and after a while it will be considered normal and I will be revolutionary in the a la carte education field! You'll see! All the other schools and teachers will be copying me!
OMG, this airline is lame and we are so going under!
