i believe that in another thread there was a rumor of US buying UA I also heard that from some United Employees in my station and i also heard that DL would buy CO I dont know much more than that

As has been mentioned before: No matter how much sense it makes to have the Q400 fly for US Express, the mainline ALPA scope clause prohibits a turboprop that size, whether by a wholly owned or a contract carrier. Yup, the same agreement that lets Mesa and Republic run 90 seat jets.

i would not be surprised if the company puts something out once delta and nw make their announcement. what it is is anyones guess. but i can guarantee you we are talknig merger with someone.

I think a merger with or aquistion of UA is a significant possibulity. For those of you think US might aquire Frontier, I don't see that one happening for several reasons, the biggest one being they are a 95 + pct domestic carrier, and their limited international ops (Mexico and SJO) US already has. As much as we put down current US management, one thing I agree with them on is US needs to and will grow Internationally, with slight capacity reductions domestically. Buying F9 goes against this. If US where to acquire a another smaller carrier, the only I see them even considering would be Spirit, who now has over half their operations as international service,

Seen a Spirit route map lately ?
