I think history has shown quite enough that US Airways has never been lucky. Out of all the airlines that had so much possibility delivered on a gold platter. US has always managed to mess it up.

1. PSA- must I go into how the elimination of west route gave WN a golden opportunity that ironically brought down west coast yields to levels far below east and spurred opportuniteis for AS and HP to grow far larger than they cou;d have had US held its ground. WOW talk about a long sentence.

2. PHL - Yeah its grungy and many other bad things but US managed to lose just enough gates in D that WN comes into PHL. Heck if we are playing for keeps I would have stabbed PIT in the back earlier and deeper just to raise enough money to not lose one inch of PHL.

3. CLT - Poor CLT, it has everything going for it, a very pro business attitude, strong support on the local level. The HQ should have been moved there years ago, PHX gives the company very little leverage. Meanwhile DL in ATL has the south back them up every time on any issue and US wonders why nobody has their back in DC.

that's the truth I had the misfortune of meeting him in clt the next clue he gets will be the first one.He was watching me do a cargo final and had a lackey explaining what i was doing.This was around the time they removed zone numbers from tags(another idiot move) I was bitching at him about that

Doug Parker arrested Again!
Doug Parker was arrested Tuesday, attempting to climb the Golden Gate Bridge to hang up a banner. Police reached him before he could get up more than five feet over the surface. Doug Parker was having difficulties climbing due to a slippery gel on his hands. Police would have initially let him go, but they seen the troubles he was having climbing, and also saw what was posted on the banner. The banner read, "This Butts for You". Doug Parker was released from San Francisco City jail on $50,000 Bond, posted by Boy George.

Actually that was Glenn Tilton telling the city of San Francisco that United is HERE to GO!!!!

Some express agents have been hearing/talking about Mesa taking over east ground handling for express like in the west. Some even fear that EN may be sold to Mesa....just repeating what was said among some agents. No one really knows what is going on. The last BIG announcement was the DL merger, and they kept that a secret until DP broke the news on TV. Thererfore I can't see any announcement of that magnitude being leaked out. My guess, they are gonna start charging for drinks and snacks on board or they will be putting in onboard pay toilets, or charging for assigned seats...expect something stupid that the front line agents will have to bare the brunt of.

You won't get leaks of any real important announcements. Only things they want to generate some "buzz" about. They really can't look like they are trying to effect the stock price or the value of the company. That would be a big SEC no-no.

Well since this is somewhat a list of relatively far fetched wishes, I'll add the following:

I wish that Parker, etal, would acquire several, if not all, of the just announced for Sale 1 year old, RR Trent 340-500s (Quantity 4 Available). I have no idea who actually owns these aircraft, but they are being brokered through a UK source. I believe the only airlines which own or have pending orders for such recent 340-500s are Ethiad, Kingfisher and Singapore - unless maybe Airbus is selling cancelled orders. These are for Sale only - not for Lease, although they could possibly be lease arranged (by US) via a 2nd Source like ILFC. One can only imagine what US could do with these 8000+ nm range aircraft - if they could afford the $ to acquire and fuel them.

Mesa is damn near bankrupt, they don't have the money to buy Piedmont or PSA. There's a far better chance that Mesa goes out of business.
