RJ 900's for PSA-- REJECTED!

While we faced this most recent challenge, we were supported by other groups and individuals that deserve our thanks.

The Piedmont MEC and pilot group aided our cause by steadfastly refusing to engage in discussions with their management over these same aircraft. The Piedmont MEC and pilot group, by refusing to enter into a bidding process that could have undermined our position on this proposal, have demonstrated an enormous amount of restraint, cooperation, and understanding of the issues that we collectively face in the Express realm.

Mark Stanley
MEC Chairman

If that same solidarity happened a few years ago, Jets for Jobs would still be just a laughable and ridiculous idea from the AAA MEC and Tooth could be considered a good union man.

That said, Well done PSA Pilots! Hold the line. I'm sure KH will next announce that PSA will shut down "because we can't get the 900s, but that might not happen if the pilots vote again to approve the TA".

Solidarity and Unity in the face of ongoing concessionary attempts by management from all parts of the US Air Group is the only way forward. If only the 'Mainline' part could understand that, who knows what could be achieved. A good start would be ending the contracting out of flying which does absolutely zero for anybody in the Group.

Congrats to the PSA pilots!!! Didn't think it would happen. You all have proven a lot. As I have said earler, hang tight, and I am confident that you will end up with the airplanes and a raise that you deserve to go with them. -Cape (a Mesa pilot)

funny that most of the yes votes were from j4j pilots. I think that is sad.
Are you sure most of those 'Yes' votes came from j4j guys? A week after this proposal came out, I heard many guys saying that while the vote (at that time) was sitting around 50/50, most of the 'Yes' voters were junior F/O's.

Anyone know what's going on with this 900 deal now? Is mainline still trying to make a deal with PSA, or is the offer now completely off the table?

Every J4J that I flew with was a no vote over the last two and a half weeks. Most were a pasionate no vote.

Most of the yes votes I heard in the crew room were senior to midlevel FOs.

I heard through the grapevine, the planes are comming to PSA and the 90 day rule that we have will be imposed. Then when 90 days expires and it goes to arbitration the managment pilots will fly them. That is why they are trying to get the managment pilots all qualified on the 200/700 recently.

On a seperate note, XNA is in the pasture but at least the hotel people take good care of you.

How could you possibly know that?
Most were proud to admit it. The ones that live in CLT have a great quality of life. Why give that up?

If I could name names on this board I could at least name 20 that voted yes. Captain pay or FO pay on the 190 you do the math.

stipulation in the contract for new equipment. Something along the lines, if pay scale can't be agreed upon, or something. A/C can come and fly for 90 days, w/o payscale. At end of 90 days arbitration should be done with a payscale agreed upon. Something like that.

Oh and there's only about 65 active J4J guys at psa

If thats the case, it seems everyone would have voted it down.....knowing you would get them anyway with an arbitrated rate. I thought it was a "take it or leave it deal"? Doesn't quite make sense to me. Anyway, congrats for hanging tough....the first hurdle has been dealt with. Continue staying strong....hopefully things will go PSAs way.
